That'd be my vote as well.
I'd even be ok with Hedquist, Heil, and Huson.  Tell Hedquist that the net is his and give Heil some starts here and there to get his feet wet.
Triple H leading us in net.

Time to play the Game!!

If McKamey stays on his current team for next season, looks like he'll be in the WHL anyway since the Penticton Vees whole team looks to be moving over to the WHL from the BCHL.  I was wondering if he'd stick with the Vees or move to the WHL...looks like it could be both.  :)

Is he even allowed to stay with the Vees if they move to the WHL? His WHL rights are held by Victoria, so I imagine he’d be forced to switch teams, but I don’t know the rules. Messy situation if you ask me lol.

That is messy…never thought about that. I’m sure Victoria will be asking for something in return.

Minnesota Hockey Magazine profile on Zellers' season in Green Bay, and how fired up he is to play Sioux Hockey.

Man, it would be great if he can produce similarly at UND compared to what he's done at Shattuck and Green Bay.  A natural goal scorer...I like the sound of that!

Anyone know if UND pursued Kraft from Moorhead? Kid is a point producing machine with a father who knows what it takes to play in the National.

Smaller…I think I heard his skating is iffy too. When I saw he committed to Kato instead of the gophs that all kind of made sense. Pt production in MN HS hockey doesn’t always translate.

Something clicked with him this year. He’s always had incredible vision and great puck skills but not the fastest and very little compete level. Fall USHL stint didn’t go well, but he’s been on a mission this season and working hard in all areas of the ice. He also looks like he’s lost a significant amount of weight, looks way stronger and more fit and much much faster.

See another Moorhead product in Carter Randklev as an example of that.

He’s quite a bit bigger than Randklev. At least 2-3 inches taller.

I think the lack of intensity/compete had a lot more to do with teams taking a wait and see approach.

First Whl recruit

He’s 19 and plays for Portland Winterhawks.  Hockeydb classifies him as a defensive forward and grinder. (Their word, not mine)

Also found this:

Though Zakreski flashes exciting skill at times, his impact is most consistent in pursuit. He’s a hard-working forechecker capable of leveraging his physicality into quick offence in the slot. The motor stays running on the backcheck and inside the defensive zone. -EliteProspects 2024 NHL Draft Guide
