Tell Hedquist that the net is his and give Heil some starts here and there to get his feet wet. Triple H leading us in net. Time to play the Game!! 1 Quote

brianvf Posted February 14 Posted February 14 If McKamey stays on his current team for next season, looks like he'll be in the WHL anyway since the Penticton Vees whole team looks to be moving over to the WHL from the BCHL. I was wondering if he'd stick with the Vees or move to the WHL...looks like it could be both. Quote

His WHL rights are held by Victoria, so I imagine he’d be forced to switch teams, but I don’t know the rules. Messy situation if you ask me lol. Quote

A natural goal scorer...I like the sound of that! 1 Quote

When I saw he committed to Kato instead of the gophs that all kind of made sense. Pt production in MN HS hockey doesn’t always translate. Quote
SpudsSioux Posted Tuesday at 03:15 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:15 AM Something clicked with him this year. He’s always had incredible vision and great puck skills but not the fastest and very little compete level. Fall USHL stint didn’t go well, but he’s been on a mission this season and working hard in all areas of the ice. He also looks like he’s lost a significant amount of weight, looks way stronger and more fit and much much faster. 1 Quote

He’s quite a bit bigger than Randklev. At least 2-3 inches taller. I think the lack of intensity/compete had a lot more to do with teams taking a wait and see approach. Quote

Hockeydb classifies him as a defensive forward and grinder. (Their word, not mine) Also found this: Though Zakreski flashes exciting skill at times, his impact is most consistent in pursuit. He’s a hard-working forechecker capable of leveraging his physicality into quick offence in the slot. The motor stays running on the backcheck and inside the defensive zone. -EliteProspects 2024 NHL Draft Guide 3 Quote
