Osh just leveled a guy like he used to do at UND. Jack in the boxed the guy on to his ass into the locker room after he lined osh up. Someone can post it if possible.

Blues go up 5-1 and now Avs starting all sorts fights and getting it handed to them every which way. Last 2 avs just got pounded, not to mention the guy who got Oshied

Man, this is great! And I can absolutely see Greene doing this! From an article on George Parros and fighting in hockey (link below - and it's a good article).

He embraces the cartoonish aspect of his job. A few years ago, Greene, one of his best friends, checked one of Parros' teammates too hard. Parros got in Greene's face. "We're having a talk right now!" he said. "You know that we're having a talk right now!"

"Oh, we're having a talk?" Greene said.

"Yeah, you better make it look like we're having a talk!" Parros said as the crowd stirred. "'Cause we're having a talk! And I'm gonna slash ya!"

So Parros slashed Greene. Gloves dropped. Parros decked Greene in front of the bench. That night, they downed beers as disbelieving fans looked on. "They think it's fake," Greene says. "'Oh, you're probably pulling punches.' No. We're trying to knock each other out."

Wow Mike Commodore tells it like it is.

From Russia with (No) Love.......for Babcock.

I think he has every right to hold a grudge after Columbus and Detroit.

I guess everything is everyone elses fault and they were all against him. Who would want such a whiner on their team? No wonder no one wanted him around.

It's really refreshing to hear a player speak so candidly. Admittedly a Red Wings fan, I have no problem with what Babcock did. I'm always of the belief that you play the players that give you the best chance to win. In the instances where Commie wasn't playing, most of the time it sounded like him coming back from injury or situational - like in Tampa where Guy said he'd play depending on whether they were in playoff position.

It's unfortunate things worked out the way they did for him in the NHL. Very strange to hear about his relationship with the Blue Jackets coach. This part specifically sounds like sour grapes "I feel I was treated piss poor; I was thrown off the team in Columbus because I was single and I was making a lot of money. The coach was jealous because he played a lot of years, he had a wife and kids and he felt he didn't earn a lot of money so he booted me off the team."

This was done for a Russian website/newspaper. In reading it, I thought it sounded like there may have been a lot of translation issues. I'm not saying that's not what Commodore meant to say, but I could also see there being some issues with the translation as well. Just throwing that out there...

Харакава женат бедных слоев населения

That's how you say 'piss poor' in Russian. 'Piss poor' would also define Commodore's whining about his treatment by Babcock.

Probably the lamest excuse ever given by a player for not getting played. Then he wonders why no one else wanted him?

Friday, December 6, I was in the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas. The National Finals Rodeo was in town, and the Mirage caters pretty heavily to that event.

I was playing poker when this cowboy sits down. Very distinguished looking. Immaculately dressed in a starched white button down shirt. Big ol' cream colored cowboy hat. Looked to be in his mid-60's. Also looked like he could pretty much whip the crap out of anybody in the place.

I was wearing a black baseball hat that has the new Sioux logo on it..

We were seated at opposite ends of the table. After awhile, I see him staring at my hat. I asked him, "you recognize it?"

He responded, "you go there, or you just find that hat?"

I told him I was a N.D. native, and the years I attended. He said, "I played for that team." I think he said '68-70. James Stuart from Calgary, Alberta.

He said he played with some great ones. Bobby Duncan. John Marks, who he described as the meanest hockey player he ever played with. I gathered he was a role player. Said he played mostly left wing. Mixed it up in the corners, which I believe.

Funny thing was, all he really wanted to talk about was the recent years. He still follows the team avidly, even from Calgary.

From the media guide it looks like he played 51 games over 2 years. He definitely wasn't a scoring machine, he had 2 goals and 5 assists in those 51 games. He also had 9 penalties for 18 minutes. Those were the first 2 Rube Bjorkman teams.

Was he a big guy or a smaller guy? Because the James 'Duncan' Stuart I know is on the smaller side.

I would describe him as "wiry". I don't think he was taller than 6 feet by any means. Sometimes it's tough to get a feel for a person's height if they're wearing cowboy boots and a hat, like this guy was.

He just looked very lean and in very good shape for someone who is in his 60's.
