  1. It was a great weekend on the the north side of Chicago!! (Sorry Twins fans )
  2. Not to turn this into a political debate, so please don't take it that direction, but given Kennedy's political affiliation and the way the media in this country (even local) seems to typically lean, it really is no surprise.
  3. This is an online message board. The epitome of a "waste of time."
  4. This was my thinking as well. Agree to basically the same deal through 2020. Settle the storm that was created and make sure your largest donor is relatively satisfied. No one knows what was actually said in these meetings. The revenue sharing was likely brought up and that UND would like to renegotiate that in 2020. If the revenue sharing was discussed and there is a potential to change that in the very near future (2020) that will bake it more beneficial for UND, than it is a win for Kennedy and more importantly, UND athletics in general.
  5. Isn't it the fans of our rivals who are supposed to be the ones we feel sorry for when they make immature, negative comments towards UND? Sad and pathetic those comments come from our own fanbase. Dislike the logo or name? Fine. But to consistently bash them on a regular basis any chance you get is something that is getting tired and old.
  6. For those really looking to get their hockey fix in Vegas the weekend of this game, the Golden Knights play the Lightning in a Friday afternoon game at 3pm on October 26th and the Senators in a Sunday early evening game at 5pm on October 28th. https://www.nhl.com/goldenknights/schedule/2018-10-01/PT
  7. 100% off all revenue from UND sports should be used to fund all UND sports. Obviously it won't be distributed evenly as some programs cost more than others. But can we all agree that UND needs to fund all programs at a level where that they can succeed at the Division 1 level?
  8. So today marks the 2 year anniversary since the new Fighting Hawks logo was released. I think we can all agree it was meet with mixed emotions, to put it lightly. I had the preconceived notion that no matter what the logo came out to be, I was going to support it. I am sure there were others that did the same. Obviously there are those that will go till their last breathe criticizing the logo and will never accept it. Just wondering, not that we are 2 years into it, has your perception of the Fighting Hawks logo changed from what it was when it came out. For me I have gone from acceptance to actually thinking that it is a good logo. Curious if others have felt the same way. Or if you still just hate it the same as he day it was released 2 years ago today.
  9. It's Brad Miller Time again!!!! http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/4463176-former-und-player-brad-miller-back-air
  10. Is Kennedy just playing us all? Think about it. Because of all this fiasco, we learned how much the REA takes for ticket and ad revenue plus we learned about the unwillingness of the REA and KEM to listen to Kennedy, Chaves, and the other UND coaches to put a Hawks logo at midcourt at the Betty. We also learned that this deal that is supposed to get negotiated yearly is just kicked down the road and not even discussed for years. Sure, nothing changed this year. But now that information is out there. Is Kennedy just holding serve now and not changing a thing to appease UND's biggest donor and just saving up his ammo for the next time he negotiates the deal?!!
  11. This seems to be the only difference: So basically instead of the REA deciding how much they will give to UND at the end of the year, they have agreed to a minimum deposit of $500,000. "At the end of each year, Ralph Engelstad Arena funds a capital reserve fund for extraordinary repairs, maintenance, and building enhancements as well as an operating reserve fund to cover unanticipated operating expenses, and then allocates the balance of its annual net income to UND Athletics. The agreement notes that while there is no cap on the amount that can be funded annually to the account, the entities desire to make an annual minimum deposit of $500,000, which is also consistent with previous usage agreements."
  12. Sale of Ray Richards golf course to be delayed http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/4462515-sale-ray-richards-golf-course-be-delayed
  13. To even out the Divisions and avoid realignment, the NHL needs to add a team in Houston or Kansas City. Another option would be to move Arizona to one of those cities to join the Central and add Seattle to the Pacific to replace Arizona.
  14. I wouldn't say we are starting in a whole. Last year was down year mostly caused by a freakish amount of injuries. This team can still build off of 2016. They know that they have the potential to have a season like that again. Not like it was 10 years ago. Many of the players from that Big Sky Championship team are playing this year. this team has the potential to be a playoff team this year (and every year for that matter). No need to let one season make them think otherwise.
  15. And in a crazy attempt to promote their re branding, they had the audacity to put it at midcourt!!
  16. Purdue Ft Wayne unveiled their new updated logo. SME was the design firm. Presented with no comment!
  17. How much of this information is public? Is there records out there that would show how much net profit the REA generated each year and how much it gave to UND? If those numbers are not the same, then the REA is making money off of their giff, which I don't think is right.
  18. So REA Inc then. Someone is making money off the arena? I don't think they are operating in the red.
  19. Soy you think donors should make money off of what the recipient used their donation for?
  20. There will be more people at the the Thursday game than if it was 2 days later during Labor Day weekend Not everyone is going to Vegas Not everyone hunts
  21. It all comes down to the question of should a donor be making money off of their donation. Ideally, The Ralph would would pay its bills for all operating costs of the arena and any profit beyond that should go to UND. That would be "acting in the best interest of UND" and ensure that the building was being maintained, and that UND would benefit from the profit the arena generates. Sholud the Engelstad Foundation be profiting from a "gift"? In my opinion, I don't think so. And that is why Kennedy made his statement that the deal signed in 2001 was to benefit the donor. He said it because he is right.
  22. Well, you know you are now going to provide proof of all this stuff. Pictured or it never happened!!
