  1. The post you quoted me on was referencing UND wearing Sioux jerseys in Vegas. I said it was not going to happen. Which it isn't. I also said "Eventually you may see throwback references to the Sioux name on jerseys" and that it would happen "Some day." That day is now Dec 29th, 2018. So technically I was right in everything I said!
  2. North Dakota to recognize 1958-59 NCAA championship team https://fightinghawks.com/news/2018/10/18/mens-hockey-north-dakota-to-recognize-1958-59-ncaa-championship-team.aspx "North Dakota will wear 1958-59 replica jerseys during its Dec. 29 exhibition game against the United States Under-18 Team at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The jerseys will then be sold via online auction at FightingHawks.com with the proceeds benefiting the Sioux Scholarship Endowment, which provides scholarship assistance to Native American students."
  3. I am just speculating. Heck, they got rid of an entire section that once belonged to students at the Fargodome!!
  4. Maybe I missed it, but has UND released pregame party info/gatherings for fans in Vegas next weekend? If so, can someone post it?
  5. As previously state, students today just don't care as much about attending sporting events. they can get endless amount of live sporting events on their phones. Why take the time and effort to go all the way to the Alerus Center. Fortunately there are people ready and willing to take their place if they don't want to use their prime seats at the Alerus. (Sidenote: Hockey isn't safe either. Students having trouble filling their section as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see sections 108 and 109 turn into Champions Club Season tickets and just move all the students to the upper bowl.) Decreasing and/or moving student sections is something more and more Universities are going to have to decide on moving forward. Kind of hard to loo at a half full student section and not think how many of those seats could be sold to the general public.
  6. I would say they should try to sell as many season tickets in 213 and 214 as they can. Like I said before, there are likely fans that would love to buy season tickets but don't want to sit in the corners. Sell the lower section below the walkway in those sections as season tickets, and the seats above the walkway in 213 and 214 sell as single game tickets to the general public.
  7. Move the Student section to 210, 211, and 212. Put the band in section 212. Open up sections 213 and 214 to new season ticket holders. Look at what happened a few years back when they moved the students over a section and 215 became available. Season tickets sold out in that section. Same thing would happen in 213 and 214. If the students are not going to show up, they don't deserve to have the best seats in the Alerus. Let the students keep the same number of seats, just move them over. I am sure there plenty of people that would love to buy season tickets, but don't want to get them in the corners.
  8. Putting the student section where it is now is not something that you see a lot a colleges. The student section where it is now are prime seats that UND could be making a lot more money on. They already moved them over a section and opened up section 215 a few years ago and UND is definitely benefiting from doing that. It is a tricky situation. On one hand, if students aren't going to show up, they could move the student section again and open those seats up to the public for season tickets that would likely sell and look much better to see those seats full. On the other hand, I don't think a good way to encourage more students to attend games is to take away their seats and move them in the corner. As been said many times, declining student attendance is not unique to just UND. Happening everywhere. I am sure if you looked around the country you would see examples of colleges decreasing student sections or moving them to sell their seats to the public.
  9. Name one college where the policy is that alcohol is allowed int he student section? Why would UND or the Alerus promote a policy that would make it easier for underage drinking to occur? Like you said, there are plenty of ways to easily get around it. I guess you will have to "sacrifice" a little bit and have to "suffer" not being able to sit in the student section as you ILLEGALLY drink a beer!!
  10. "Adult" students acting like kids? Where would they get that idea?!!!
  11. Nothing is keeping students that are 21+ from drinking anywhere else besides 3 sections. You do realize why it would be a problem to allow it in the student section right?
  12. Chattanooga is 5-2, who Wofford beat. But the combined record of the other 3 teams they beat is 2-16.
  13. We won right? And we kinda dominated too. Geez. What’s with all the negativity!! Some of you in here could win a million dollars and probably bitch about the suitcase full of cash being too heavy!! Enjoy the win!!
  14. Putting things into perspective. It’s the first game of the year. I’d much rather win the last game of the year than the first!!
  15. "D's get Degrees"
  16. Well, the title of the thread is "What do you think of the logo now?" So, since "now" is always in the present, it is open to everyones current opinion on the matter at that time!! Edit......We did it!! 100 pages!! 90siouxfan, pop the champagne!!
  17. Not to pit one program against the other, but couldn't you make the same argument for the hockey team getting a 3 million dollar upgrade to there , at the time, 14 year old locker room? That could have been used for "knee braces, or water bottles, or coaches salaries, or really anything that could have actually helped the programs so desperately needing the funding." Especially maybe updating the locker room facilities they use that are easily over half a century old. Private funds given by donors can be allocated to however the donor sees fit. If they want to donate to new locker rooms at the Ralph, fine. If they want to donate towards a live mascot at UND sporting events, that's fine too!! No need for you to get all bent out of shape on something so silly as a mascot. Every University has one. it's OK if we do too!!
  18. Eventually you may see throwback references to the Sioux name on jerseys. But not this soon after the debacle. So I would say it is a long shot. And by long shot, I mean zero chance of happening. Some day.
  19. Where did you see that? that does seen odd.
  20. Don't want to offend the Siouxnowflakes in attendance
  21. Agreed. Maybe they are waiting until he gets an official name and then they can get him a football, basketball, and hockey jersey. You see this all the time. Hopefully they do the same here.
  22. And sometimes that choice may be right for one and wrong for another.
  23. What is the record for down votes on 1 post? We may have a contender for the title!!
