    UND-MVSU

I don't think a school that has 7 wins in the past 5 years combined (5 against NCAA schools) that went 2-9 last year as was outscored 371-61 in their 9 loses is a team we should be too worried about. Our 3 win team last year would have likely beat them by 35+ last year. I guess they are hoping that since we were only a 3 win team last year, that they only get beat by something line 49-3 instead of 72-7.

Didn't the ND State Senate rule UND had to donate it to the Heritage Center in Bismarck if they decided not to play for it? I am guessing the timeframe for when that will have to happen is coming soon, so UND is taking advantage of that by showcasing at their events. Can blame them. How many people will see it when it goes to Bismarck? Not that many. I have no problem with them displaying this important part of UND football history one more time.
  3. Here is a map of the new tailgate configuration. Nice to see they moved the single game tailgate up close to the building with everyone else. Hopefully this should eliminate the huge gap between the reserved tailgaters who show up late and those that are out early that bought single game spots. Student tailgate seems to be in a better spot as well. Wondering if the the team shuttles will drop off at the far south end of the lot to walk through the student tailgate lot as well. Seems like it would be a good idea. I like the changes they have made overall inside and out for UND gamedays. Looks like they got it right with the new tailgate configuration.
  4. Well they damn well better!! We have all the answers!!
  5. Some pretty nice improvements all around for football games this year. https://fightinghawks.com/news/2018/8/23/und-and-spectra-reveal-improvements-for-2018-football-season.aspx
  6. I was pleased, and not surprised, Ketteringham was named the starter. Zimmerman is still a good QB. It will be nice to know that if there are any issues with Nate (injury or play on the field), he should be able to step in without missing a beat.
  7. 12,000 ? ?

I don't think it is going to happen as much as people think. Returners want to get the ball and take it to the house. I don't think you will see Santiago taking advantage of this rule too often.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/new-ncaa-rule-turns-any-fair-catch-inside-the-25-yard-line-on-a-kickoff-into-a-touchback/ Biggest change is for a kickoff, any fair catch made betwwn the goal line and the 25 yd line will be treated as a touchback. Not a big fan of this as it takes away the kickers ability to directionally kick and pin the offence deep in the zone. But that's the way things are going in football these days at all levels. Take away the hitting. Soon kickoffs will be removed from the game of football and possession will just start on the 25.

    2 weeks from today!!!!
  11. Hey Eddie, looking for two. heard you got some.
  12. So what is your evidence that NDSU even wants to pursue moving up to FBS? You seem to always through out a lot of speculation and predictions, but can't back them up with evidence and facts.
  13. You would think after 6 FCS Championships in 7 years, 6 straight wins over FBS teams, 2 ESPN Gameday appearances, one of the top schools for attendance, that would ahve heard something about NDSU even just maybe kinda thinking about exploring the idea of going FBS. You have literally heard nothing. I don't care what your feelings or what you think might happen in your one mind. Until I see some actual evidence (not just what you think is going to happen) but actual hard facts I am calling a huge BS on anything SiouxVolley says.
  14. So what about the financial aspect of it? If NDSU wanted to go FBS, you would think that they would have the ability to raise funds to do it. How long did it take to raise money for the SHAC? Imagine having to do that every year!!
  15. According to who? I have never heard any President, AD, coach, etc ever say that. To speculate that is what they want to do is nonsense. Sure, they have been successful at the FCS level. But you need two things to move up to FBS. Conference invite, and most importantly, money. And lots of it. No leadership has ever said they want to move up to FBS. Any statement saying they do is just nonsense. Unless you have proof........oh wait. forgot who I was talking to you. Speculation and hearsay trump numbers and facts for you.
  16. Simple answer why UND isn't going FBS.....Money. Upgrades to the stadium or a new stadium to meet attendance requirements, increased scholarships/cost of attendance, increase in coaches salaries, increase in travel, etc, etc, etc. That all costs money. Any by that I mean tens of millions more PER YEAR. I get the mindset that anything can happen. but as it stands right now, looking at the cost to play at the FBS level, Right now there is an absolute zero percent chance that UND ever moves up to FBS and it is not even close.
  17. Buxton is fast and is good in the outfield. but he can't hit major league pitching. Until he proves otherwise at the Major League level, He will be considered a bust.

Agreed. Doesn't hurt to have an All American corner that will be playing in the NFL next year fully health and ready to take over games!!

    2018 Season

First preseason poll is out. No surprise at #1. UND is in the not too favorable "others recieving votes" part of the poll. http://www.fcs.football/cfb/polls.asp?div=fcs
  20. Since there is a hockey game that night, my guess is they will offer "priority seating" for those that attend the football game. I can't remember if they hand those out after half time or the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, after that happens no mater who the opponent or how close the game is, the students will make a mass Exodus our the building after that.
  21. By the tickets at the 20 yd line. Stand in the catwalk for the first half. By halftime there will open seats in the student section, go sit there for the second half. Unfortunate that hald the students will leave at halftime, especially for a Montana game, but that's reality. Especially considering hockey is in town that night.
  22. Viewing party is at T-Mobile Arena!!
  23. I am $ure $omenody will will make you a pretty $weet offer for tho$e ticket$.
  24. In the medal rounds, there is a 20 min overtime before they go to a shootout. So while it happens often in the prelim rounds, not as often in the medal round. But I agree, it is ridiculous that the gold medal can be determined by a shootout (Twam USA Womens hockey) That being said, Shootout for a regular season game is the best way to decide a winner without dragging on the game for multiple OT's. There are 82 NHL games and 30+ College games that don't need to go past 5 mins (or 10 mins for some conferences) into overtime. Shootouts are the best way to quickly determine a winner during games in the regular season. Playoffs, obviously those need to be played out.
