Yeah, Shootouts suck!!

On honor that our players are eligible for the next two years......National Champions.

Odd teams really messes up the schedule because there will be weeks where you only play one game. With no "travel partner" I assume they have to have games Wednesday/Saturday as opposed to Thursday Saturday for travel. Hopefully a 10th team can be added to end this scheduling debacle.

As I previously stated. Virtually every professional league in the world uses the shootout. And every league that has adopted the shootout still has it. they haven't reverted back. More people like the shootout more than games ending in a tie. Like I said. If you don't like it, that's fine. But the majority of the hockey fans around the worked like it, so it's not going anywhere.

Shootouts in the Stanley Cup Playoffs are never going to happen. It has never been proposed to determine any playoff game (as far as I know) at any level of hockey. So if they don't do it for termite championships, they certainly aren't going to do if for the Stanley Cup. If you don't like the shootout, guess what, you don't have to stay and watch it. You have the freedom to get out of your seat and leave. Ain't America great!! But when every level of professional hockey around the world uses it, that tells you it must be pretty popular. You have the right to have your opinion about shootouts. But just know that it is the minority opinion.

CC was part of the initial 6 that were set to join the NCHC. If they were applying on their own, I doubt they would get in. What helped them was having Denver in state joining the conference and they were looking to join as well. Without Denver being a couple hours away, I doubt they get in today.

The excuse for declining attendance in the Big Sky for all sports was lack of familiarity with the opponents. Hard for fans to get excited about teams like Sacramento St, Norhtern Arizona, Portlant St., etc. I guess I can't speak for everyone, but having the likes of NDSU, SDSU, USD, UNO back on the schedule for all sports is refreshing. Playing in the NCC was great!! I guess people have forgotten. It is going to be more of the same but on a bigger scale now that we are all D1. NCC 2.O......Call it whatever you want. But I am excited to be playing those guys again when in matters...in conference play.

MS Valley State will be a blowout win for us. Washington will likely be a blowout loss for us. The game that will set the tone for us is going to be Sam Houston. Sure they don't have Briscoe anymore, but they are still picked to finish first in the Southland. If we can go in a win there, that would set the tone for the rest of the season. Weber St and Montana are huge games. It will help to have those games at home. Washington, SHSU. Weber, and Montana are all games that we are likely not going to be favored in and the biggest potential for loses this year. After last season, 7-4 would be a great step in the right direction. Anything less than 6-5 however would be a disappointment I think.

The season being success will hinge on two very crucial home games. Montana and Weber. 2-0 in those game would me huge!! 0-2 and we are likely out of the playoffs. Need to win one of those games if this season is going to be considered a success.

Well, the Blackhawk logo was around for 25 years before a change was made on the hockey jerseys. the Geometric Sioux logo was around for 28 years until the new Brien Sioux logo was introduced. So I guess in about 23-26 years we should expect a new logo!!

for all those saying how awful the fighting Hawks logo is, remember...it could be worse. Case in point, William and Mary. Need another example? Look at the logo for our opening game football opponent Mississippi Valley State!!!

The plans for the new stadium at the Ray Richards site are out. As you can see, there is plenty of room for retail space around it!

I may be out of bounds here, but I don't think an eagle logo is the best way to go for the Fighting Hawks!!

A secondary logo may sound good initially, but in reality you are just creating another Fighting Hawks logo that people are going to bitch about. If you haven't accepted the Fighting Hawks name and logo by now, a new logo certainly isn't going to change your mind.
