  1. 11348 people attended the game in Madison Square Garden. Some were BC fans, but not a lot. So lets conservatively say there were 10,000 UND fans there. Given the success of that game as well as the high demand of the Vegas game, It's not too crazy to think that the next destination game in Nashville will surpass the New York game. Remember, fans were given like a week (with the presale) to buy tickets. When they were out, that was it. The game in Nashville will sell likely 8,000-10,000 tickets in the first week!! Then fans will have over a year to decide it they want to go. It's really simple. More fans will have the opportunity to go, so more fans will go. I also think that you underestimate the number of Penn St fans that will make the trip. There are more Penn St Alum that you think. Sure they are new to the D1 hockey world, but if I was a Penn St. fan, I would think it was pretty cool that the biggest hockey program in college asked my team to play a game this big. I could see 2000-3000 Penn St fans making the trip.
  2. We don't really have a choice. 2030 UND takes over. I don't know why everyone thinks the REA is going to go to hell once UND takes control. Zero eveidence that is going to happen.
  3. It's going to be Penn St. Unless they back out, which I don't see any reason they would, that will be the opponent. The only reason it hasn't been officially announced is becuase they are just finalizing the details. Biggest one being the date.
  4. Where do you think she gets it from? Remember, Ralph demanded that Baker and Wanless be fired before he donated the money for the arena.
  5. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/4522883-watch-interview-kris-engelstad-mcgarry "We don't have a relationship with UND. As long as that the current President is sitting there. And he is very aware of that. We still support the students, we support scholarships, we support the hockey program. But until there is a change of governance at the University, we won't be supporting them." - Kris Engelstad McGarry So will she support the University or not? Her statement is contradicting.
  6. Let me clarify, there will be much more interest in the Nashville game because the ability to get tickets is greater. If you want to get tickets to the game and go, you likely will.
  7. Well, Bridgestone Arena currently seats 17,113 for hockey. I would guess that there will be multiple seating price options. So given those reasons, I would say more people would be interested in going to this even over Vegas. 10,000 will probably be the number of tickets sold in the first week they are on sale!!!
  8. Also, the games aren't sold old. Call the Ralph and pick it up at willcall.
  9. He should be introduced and then come out of the penalty box!! Only fitting!
  10. I get that the Vegas game was more than just the game for people. Lots to do in Vegas. But it was sold out 20 months prior to the game and it sold out quickly. There are many people who missed out on the Vegas game who heard stories of all the UND fans around town, of the awesome pre party outside the arena, and the unbelievable atmosphere at the game. There are many people who missed out on Vegas that are itching to be a part of a destination game. Nashville isn't just a town with a couple country bars and the Opry anymore. It's becoming a go to tourist destination of its own. Through the allure of being able to play in a 17000+ NHL arena and being a part of packing that place out, I think you are going to get a lot of fans there. I don't care who we are playing. Doesn't matter. The Nashville game will sell out.
  11. Based on the ice conditions and delays that occurred that day, I don't think you have anything to worry about!!
  12. Irish hockey to host Michigan at Notre Dame stadium outdoor game https://www.ncaa.com/news/icehockey-men/article/2018-10-30/irish-hockey-host-michigan-notre-dame-stadium-outdoor-game
  13. So why the delay to announce the Nashville game? Waiting for the football schedule to be released? Penn St to formally accept to play the game? I would guess with the buzz of the Vegas game still hanging around, You would think they would make the announcement sooner rather than later.
  14. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/4521438-commentary-und-destination-games-keep-growing-popularity "And, assuming they get things finalized, Nashville 2020 will be bigger than Vegas." Given the high demand for Vegas tickets and the number of fans that wanted to go but couldn't, and the fact that the game will be in an 17,000+ seat arena....Absolutely Nashville will be bigger than Vegas. Just for the fact there will be well over twice as many people there. Can you imagine a scene like this on Broadway on game day but instead with a sea of green UND fans?!!!!+
  15. Nashville will be great. Arena is downtown right off Broadway. Hotels are very close as well as Broadway which is packed full of bars and restaurants. In Vegas, UND fans were spread out over a very large area. In Nashville, most people will stay downtown, so I think you will see a lot more green. Not to mention there will be twice as many fans there than in Vegas!! Another perk.......much cheaper!!!
  16. Well, we got our "Quality loss" of the season. Should bode well for us come Playoff selection time!!
  17. Totally agree. One of the best and most refreshing things about the game on Saturday was that there were no adds playing on the big screen or adds playing during stoppages of play. (Or at least I didn't notice any). The one thing that has yet to be mentioned is the music that was played during the stoppages!! Great songs with great bass beats to get fans clapping. Also some great remixes!! The music was one of the more underrated aspects of the game that I thought was great!!
  18. This.^^^^^. Place is going to be rockin!!!!
  19. I wonder if the Orleans Sports Book will have the game available for betting on. Would be a awesome if they did. I am sure there would be some novice UND fan sports gamblers that would place a bet for the game just to say they did!
  20. The countdown is on to the Vegas game this weekend. Many of us will be heading to Sin city in the next couple days. For me (and maybe others) it will be my first trip to Vegas. There are hundreds of websites telling you the "must see" activities in Las Vegas. Obviously the Strip, Freemont St, Bellagio Fountains, etc are popular hot spots. I can go online and find others as well, but what I am looking for is tips from those of you that have been to Vegas and give suggestions of places you gone, sites you have seen, restaurants you have eaten at....stuff like that. Call me crazy, but I respect the opinions of most people on here and am curious of the suggestions of those of us that can help the rest of us newbies the best way to make this trip awesome. Alright, let's hear it. To all you Vegas veterans, let me know what I gotta check out!!
  21. So does this mean you are warming up to the fact that the FCS and the MVFC is the best fit for UND and NOT the FBS route?!!
  22. Absolutely what they should be doing. Encouraging more people to get in the building needs to be the key. Make new fans of people and have them be a part of the whole game day experience from the tailgating to the game is much better than watching it on TV.
  23. When is the last time you could say you tailgated in the parking lot before a hockey game?!! Loving that we get to do it on Saturday!!!
  24. I get it that there will be many fans that are going to be in Vegas this weekend that would typically be at the football game on Saturday. I am going to give our fans in this situation the benefit of the doubt that they will give their tickets to someone else so they can attend the game. So I confident the attendance will be great for the game on Saturday. Also, the football game is at 2pm, the hcokey game is on at 9pm in Grand Forks. No reason why fans can't do both.
