Schmidt said in his weekly presser that we can definitely expect to see the Beaver twins and Appleget. And some freshman might work their way into the OL two deep. DB and WR were also mentioned.

I hope Silvernale will punt and kick field goals for us.  Sounds like he is getting a look with field goals and would give Riffle a year to develop.

 

Riffle has a boot so he could handle kickoffs.

How are ticket sales?  SDSU was lagging about 4500 total all season as of Sunday compared to last year (when we had NDSU coming in and Sac St as a home opener) but seems to have taken a bit of a jump to start the week.  Should be close to selling out the opener now even though it's a dog of an opponent, Beef Bowl (which is like a second homecoming), Dairy Drive and Hobo Day games.  I assume eventually tickets will sell for the JSD game but there's still about 2500 left for that game.  JSD fans don't go to their home games so it's no surprise they aren't buying tickets in Brookings. Hopefully the YSU game, which interupts the preseason schedule on 9/19 gets close, too.  That might be the best team to come to Brookings this fall.   I'm looking forward to a day when the Whioux visit Brookings again.  It's been so long - do they travel?

Both are going to be 60 point blowouts, so it depends on your definition of better.   IMO I'd rather see more competitive games.

We will not blowout LIU.  They will be competitive. Our OL will be bigger so we should control, but a 10-12 pt win. St Thomas will be a bit easier, but no blowout. 17 pt win.

I would agree LIU maybe will not be a 60 point blowout Florida scored 55 or so last year.  With what we have returning, even if crowd is not too into it we will win by 30 to 40 point….it will depend on how well backups play.

Interesting that the UND Athletics football schedule shows Midco and ESPN+ as carrying the gamer.  However, ESPN+ does not list it as one of the games that day.  Anyone have any mote info?

I feel like a lot of the games especially early in the year don't show up on ESPN+ until closer to the game day.

They beat Eastern Mich a low middle of pack MAC program. But, where do we stack up against the MAC. I'd like to believe we'd be in the upper tier of the MAC, but.........

We should not underestimate New England FB teams.
