Well, i think you would be wrong.  Look at all the coaches at the P4 schools who get bought out for tens of millions of dollars for the next shiny new coach.  It's essentially the same thing.

While I don’t disagree with you that the money will keep being there, it gets hard for schools to keep asking for money when the product isn’t what fans are looking for.

Talked with a P5 assistant AD that their basketball team had a “down” year this year and he said “I’m having to ask donors to double their donations for next year. It’s extremely hard to get people to give more money when the wins aren’t there this year. It’s currently not sustainable.”

Kentucky spent a crapload on MBB this year and they got bounced in the round of 32.

There’s never been more pressure on coaches and ADs for instant results. I hope it all crashes and burns.

How long is it before they establish two tier system for basketball small mid major conferences with portal have zero chance of having Cinderella run in the tournament and soon tv won’t want to air these blowouts we have had this year. The small midmajor schools with the portal can never build team to compete and now mid majors schools will be young players just playing a year or two then start moving and following the money. Today top schools in division I is no longer amateur sports but minor league professional sports. I think this has to run the course until scandal and public interest wains until whole system collapses..

Who can UND compete with for nil money? Along with other financial incentives. Can we compete in the Summit and MVFC? Compete with other like conferences?

Reusse was on Michael Rand podcast this morning talking about the crazy NIL situation.  Said he talked with Uelmen after he helped us beat St Thomas in tourney.  Uelmen said he loved UND and Sather gave him a chance .......  Not long after he was in the portal.  

Reusse then said he talked to Sather at a coaches function at start of NCAA tourney.   He asked Sather about losing Uelmen and Sather said something like "I have no idea who I'll have next year at this point.  Almost all of my team is in the portal."

NDSU will lose 7 of their top 8 through portal and graduation.
