You are dogging on a first year women's coach that was handed a dumpster fire this year and yet Sather is in year 6 and has done nothing !! 1 Quote

Sather’s teams have been competitive and enjoyable to watch! The women’s program remains a dumpster fire, since the AD fired Brewster! We will never win another National Title with either program, but there has to at least have a chance to be .500 or above and competitive Quote

Greg is a 35+ year friend, that has been very successful. I will take Paul any day, he comes highly recommended and has had some success at a couple of schools before UND. Paul has also recruited very well here! Retention has been the issue, which seems to be a trend every where. I will make no apologies, I feel he is a good Coach here, even if the overall record isn’t what a lot of you want! Winning isn’t easy… Quote

sioux24/7 Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago The men only lost to NDSU by a combined 50 whereas the women lost by 61. Men are trending! Quote
sioux24/7 Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago My question is where do people rank this season in terms of Sather’s coaching jobs? Like is this towards the top of his seasons here or what? Quote

Winning isn’t easy… I think you're mostly right but when one of your players busts free and goes in for an easy 2 point lay-in but tries to showboat and "SLAM IT" and totally blows it then hangs on the rim and gets called for it and the COACH BLOWS UP at the refs? WTF! You're the COACH! Get in your players face and roast HIM!!! That wasn't on the official that was on the player. Sather almost got a technical which would have been twice as worse....that's the problem...misdirected "coaching/anger" YOUR GUYS DO MAKE MISTAKES! Your job as coach is to correct that - end of story! 1 Quote

Winning isn’t easy… You’ve eliminated results from a result-orientated line of work (as most work should be). That doesn’t allow for an accurate assessment. I appreciate the sentiment, but it is exactly the type of thinking that keeps programs mediocre and away from excellence. The UND MBB needs more support ($), no question, but that additional support doesn’t change the characteristics of the individual. If you don’t change the culture up front, the culture will change you. It’s too far gone for Coach Sather - he’s a shell of himself. He got the money, but he won’t find major success at UND MBB, and UND MBB is locked into mediocrity for another 2-3 years. Wake me in 2028-2029 and maybe we can talk excitement with UND hoops then. In the meantime, I recommend you turn your attention to UND hockey and UND football. They’ve got the support and leaders you need to have a chance. Quote
