We've seen plenty of teams peak in February.  Will this be one?  Time will tell.

They could just have needed a wake up call.  All the talking in the world can't teach you the lesson you'll learn getting worked over on the rink.

The team in front of him is just going through the motions thinking it will be given to them.

No different than how they normally play in front of Homer but he gets no sympathy.  Spunar beginning to show some chinks in his armor these last two games.

Tough game tonight...loved our resiliency in the third though.  St Cloud seemed to just want it a little more; especially in the first two periods.  Happy that Zakreski is back, I think that will pay dividends going forward.  Spoony didn't have a lot of help early but seems to be just a little off his game.  Looking for a big push tomorrow and a regulation win going away.  Go Sioux!

I hope the boys snap out of the current funk they're in...that being said they still find a way to stack NCHC points.  If they start playing what looks like a full sixty again I think they will be very dangerous come tourny time.  Senior leadership gonna come in handy I think.  Go Sioux!

With how this team plays desperate, I’m not too concerned about entering the NCAA tournament as a slightly wounded animal. The issue, there is a fine line between slightly and mortally wounded. We’ve seen some of the recent Denver teams lay an egg in the NCHC tourney and then dominate the rest of the way. Feels like that could be in this team’s future.  It would be nice to still do it as a 1 seed in Sioux Falls however.

This team can be downright dominant at times, but it's been a while since they have done that for over a period in a game.
Would be nice to have a big showing tonight and win by 2+ goals, but with how tight games are at the end of the season, that might be difficult.

Would be great to just see a better defensive effort overall.
Any bets on if Homer gets the nod tonight?

If Berry was the coach Homer would 100% be in tonight. But I feel Jax knows it’s better to focus on winning and if one tendy gives you a better chance at that you should roll with them

A little concerning that this frequent inconsistency is happening in late February when it should have been ironed out in the first half of the year. A team shouldn't need 4-5 months to play a full game. Echoes of recent years, although the talent on this year's team has allowed them to get away more with their sloppy play. Many different faces from last year, but same ADHD mentality. Maybe that's inevitable considering many of these players are still in their teens.

Post game radio heading home Jax sounded exasperated discussing with Looker the team's gross play the first 2 periods.

Agree, this consistent inconsistency is a prima donna attitude that I felt was all too prevalent over the last number of years.  Let's get back to a lunch pail blue collar approach and give 100% all game long. I don't think any of the other top 5-6 teams is going to give a crap about what kind of accomplishments we've had in the past.

If Menghini is healthy, I’m guessing he comes back in tonight. We could use his intensity; plus he had a good run where he was heating up. But who should come out?

Last night it seemed like Ollie and Swanson struggled the most. Feel free to throw tomatoes at me but Swanson did not handle the heavy playoff-style 5x5 hockey. His foot speed isn’t fast enough to make up for his small frame. Obviously his abilities to pass and make plays off the wall are next level but I don’t get as excited when he’s got the puck on his stick unless he’s in the o zone on the power play.

I don’t see them taking Swanson out but maybe Ollie comes out, Menghini in, and they shuffle Littler back to center the 4th.

I’ll brace myself for the tomatoes; just basing it off of last night’s performances.

Western will jump us in NPI with a win tonight according to the CHN customizer

As I said before, Western is the team to beat.

It was there for the taking.

Just ship the Penrose to Kalamazoo for next weekend.

Where’s the optimism you exclaimed a few weeks ago?

Seeing two subpar performances in as many weeks will do that.

At least we are not a bubble team like you were implying a few weeks back.

I'm still optimistic that this team will win the Penrose and get a #1 seed.

One more loss and we'll drop down to #12!  Give or take.  ;)

Western has not looked like world beater lately.  We can defintely take one.

I watched the 3rd period and OT of the CC/WMU game last night.
Seemed like the puck was in the Western end for the majority of that time.
Hampton had to make some tough saves to prevent CC from winning that in regulation.
