We have great defensemen who have been playing lights-out for most of the season. Tonight they were really unorganized and made some questionable decisions. That won't fly against top-tier teams late in the season and especially in the post season. For some inexplicable reason, our D-corp does not play up to their potential in front of Homer. I can't figure out why, but it seems to be a real thing. Jan for the run! While I agree with what you're saying, ASU's top line is about as high end as it gets in college hockey this year. They're maybe just a notch below the Plante line in lines I've seen us play this year. If you give Lucius any time, he's going to make you pay. Quote

Honestly, I'd prefer this aggressive approach going after the puck vs some previous teams that have sat back in their box and let guys pick corners. You're going to get burned occasionally but it's been working for the PK recently and only keeps getting better. The kicker is you have to win the puck battles at all costs when you do it. Quote

Spoon is much more poised and calming presence in net. Glad it worked out for Homer to start against his old team in his old arena and get the win. Also glad we don’t have think about it anymore. On to Špunar. 4 Quote

This is similar to when they had 4 guys down low against Duluth and then it went the other way for a goal. You can't leave 3 players all alone like that. 2 guys puck watching and not covering the slot and net area. Quote

Surprisingly, FOX 10 In Phoenix is carrying both games. Quite a few here nitpicked their broadcast team, but they did a nice interview of Schlossman during the first intermission & also of Rickwood at the end of the game. Not many home telecasts (if any) interview opposing players after the game, but they did. They were complimentary of the UND program. 3 Quote

Three of the four goals last night weren’t really his fault but his play style makes me uneasy at times. Spunar looks like he is in control at all times. 3 Quote

Sodbuster Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago All week I've been reading a 7:00 central time puck drop for tonight and now I see 6:00. Which is it for sure? 1 Quote

Hockey is a fast playing sport and you have a player reaching for the puck putting himself in a vulnerable position. It wasn't a high hit. He leaned in with his shoulder. Keep your head up. 1 Quote

I was only able to catch the third period and as annoyed as I was getting listening to the harping about the hit on the ASU player, those announcers did comment how the score was what it was not because of the officiating. That and the things you cited definitely give their announcers their due. Watching the CC game, the Omaha announcers crack me up. Talk about captain obvious. Not a whole lot of interesting insight other than just stating the obvious out there. 1 Quote

Funny how when Reschny barking at the refs was whining and was due the penalty he got because they were warned, but later when ASU was barking from the bench and penalty box they didn’t mention the thought of an unsportsmanlike conduct was due to be called. 3 Quote

Don’t think 5100 people saw it that way, because I still couldn’t tell with replays. The contact to the head of the UND player was much more obvious, and UND received a penalty for calling that out. Personally, I am glad that Powers signed an extension, because I think they could get a really good coach that would really put them over the top with some recruiting advantages. 3 Quote

When I saw it, it simply looked like our guy using his hand to fend off an irate ASU player who kept coming at him. Works both ways but both coach’s and fans only ever think of the bad/missed/non-calls that affect them negatively. 1 Quote

However the way the officials were last night, he likely "forgot" before reporting the goal.😜 He was bitching cuz the ref stopped his clearing around the board pass. Resulting in us scoring Quote
