Observant point.  It was Schleusner that told me that strategy years back.  Before a big game, or prior to conference, throw so many looks on film that DCs don't have enough practice time in the week to prepare for them all.

It was close to two decades ago @PCM was advocating "two QBs on the field at once" to me as a disrupter to the defense preparation. I believe it was the FB "Brock-star" era.

While I didi think it was a little odd Simon getting in, I didn't have a problem with him getting some reps in. JTJ has not looked fhat great, and to be honest if Jerry got hurt and we needed a drive in the last two minutes of the game to come back and win...Simon may give us the best shot right now. I agree with it being Jerry, JTJ, Sulik in that order behind Jerry....but if we desperately needed a drive to win the game and Jerry was out....

backups qb's with backups is not a true measure of a qb....could be saying thing about jerry if jtj was the starter.

They actually have Nate DeMontagnac as the main photo on the sports page.

There is a picture of Simon, which accompanies the article that was written about him where he asked the coaches what he can do to help the team and they added a few
wrinkles for him to put some extra things on tape for other teams to prepare for. The new head coach also states a lot of the same thing we heard last year:

nate...even worse....8 catches in 5 years....and 8 drops.

way to build your brand.

Weird that the coaches like a guy so much. you really need to set the straight about Simon.

these warm and fuzzy stories go hand and hand with a 53% winning percentage and 1 playoff win over the last 10 or so years.

he wouldn't even make the team down south

ike is currently 7-9 as oc.....just saying

Yet a couple former All-Americans and a number of coaches disagree with you. Danny Freund said that he wanted to find ways to get him on the field 2yrs ago when Schuster was our starting QB. Are you that delusional that you think so many others closer to the program think Simon will help them.
What do you have against Simon?

Then let it go. I think you are smart enough to know that your comments seem personal. I don’t know if your obsession with Jerry is cuz you are personal friends, related, or a man crush.  I would think you are better than that. Jerry has earned the starting position and I believe it’s because he gives us the best chance to win. The coaches also believe that. Last year they didn’t think he was ready. I lot of us thought Feeney would be the starter last year. None of that matters anymore.
If the coaches have a plan to utilize Simon in multiple roles, it’s because they believe that would give us a better chance to win. Regardless of how they plan to utilize him, he has already proven he belongs.

In answer to your question, yes I’ve watched a couple of the UND and the NDSU games.

Honestly, with the talent that we have at QB, you could have all three QB's on the field as a look for them to have to think about preparing for.  Not sure the legality of having three QB's on the field at the same time, but I'd do it if its a legal play.  Heck, you could put Simon on the field in the punt team look and on 4th and short sneak it if the look is right or try and draw them off.

Maybe too much backyard football there though.

Some folks are slow on the up-take.

UND just put a ton of new looks and wrinkles on tape that MVFC DCs need to be aware of.

It almost forces a D to switch to man coverage when 11 or 6 is in the slot; if they stay in zone, step back, backwards pass, and slot QB has RPO with the opposite side receiver running post and near side running shallow cross (ready to block).

Sure lay it all out for opponents to see.  🤣

If you're gonna bemoan something, how about Schmidt drinking a Fresca at the post-game presser.
It's just as consequential.

Had to downvote this.
