I guess that shoots the hole in the theory, popular amongst some here, that it'll be next to impossible to bring any OHL studs west of Lake Michigan.

There are far too many talented players in both the OHL & WHL to confine them all respectively to 1 NCAA conference.

Yeah, but it’s easier to say that or to say that we didn’t want them

quality over quantity

100% msu actually has a nice class but I agreee and I wasn’t being negative with my 1 comment. At the forefront of all this I just assumed we’d be much more heavily involved with the Canadians for obvious reasons.

That’s a big time get for the Terriers. Good to see that the Minnesota Wild aren’t rushing him to pro & understand the benefits of the NCAA route. Wonder if Ritchie is getting some solid NIL money.

Additionally, this allows for BU to defer some of their meh recruits another year, send em back to junior to develop. This new world is crazy, but fun & intriguing too.

It's been said on here Bear can't get past NCAA Clearinghouse for next year because of classes,

Hopefully the CHLers actually interested in the NCAA get a waiver to get their core classes in a bit later.

Additionally, if Bear is interested in coming down here, deferring him a year while he gets healthy before he comes in in 2026-27 might be beneficial for all parties involved

I just read somewhere he’s skating. I guess he’s way ahead of the timeline.

From Schlossman article today. What camp is this they speak of?

  • Ralph Engelstad Arena hosted a camp with top young prospects last weekend. R.J. Thompson, a 2010-born forward, was one of the notable players at the camp. Thompson is eligible to commit on Aug. 1, 2026.

Just a young “futures” type camp

Program is setting a course for the future and developing relationships.

This topic (ID camps) came up on college hockey reddit. A hockey mom asking if it was worth going to, some mixed reactions about them.

College sports camps are an important piece in the recruiting process. The athletes get a week on campus, a week with that schools coaches, an opportunity to meet players on the team, and often an opportunity to interact with fellow recruits. The coaches and potential future teammates get a chance to learn how a potential recruit responds to their coaching, how they treat support staff, how they interact with other kids etc.

Its a good idea to attend camps at schools the athlete is interested in.

I don’t know. I attended a Dave Gunther basketball camp at UND when I was in 7th grade, and I never got a sniff. Can’t believe that Dave would have already filled the 5’10” slow guy spot on the roster five years early.

Anyone heard any more rumblings about McMorrow & Smaby being a package deal?
Kid would be a great pickup.
This goal was all him...his hustle to win the puck battle, then being in the right place to bang it home.

This isn't an "ID" camp its a very quietly held invite only camp that is purposely targeted at specific prospective players.

It's not really what you think about in comparison to the old UND hockey school camps or a Jr's or AAA camp
