I just hope this doesn't deflate the team for Potato Bowl. They basically took one of the top college football teams into OT when UND had a new coach, new Qb and we knew basically nothing about this team. Cheer up Bro. 2 Quote
FSSD Posted August 31 Posted August 31 I don't understand the play calling on the offense and the defense. They went into a shell on both sides of the ball. Oh, well moving on I guess.. Offense: Positives: We have a QB that can make all the throws. He looks good. Neg: O-line got handled and they had no push up the middle. Don't now about the receivers, still a number of drops and limited separation. Fr TE looked good. Defense: Hard to read the defense - still a work in progress. No sacks, missed 4 or 5 opportunities to make plays. Only a couple of miscommunications that I could see - resulting in TDs. Overall, I didn't see a ton of mental errors: procedure, offside, motion, illegal formation type of stuff. So, that we good. The last two minutes of the games is on the coaches. Quote

Cheer up Bro. Agree with no moral victories anymore, and our own OC f'd up at the end. I guess 20 years from now the players just get to sit around talking about how close the game was. Lots of positives though for sure, and I expect us to destroy Portland State. Then go upset Montana. 1 1 Quote

Popular Post Wilbur Posted August 31 Popular Post Posted August 31 Again, proud of the kids, represented the university well today. Losing hurts but it feels a lot better bickering about a chance to beat a top 25 FBS team on the road with a play or two that could've gone differently than about the team falling apart and folding like a tent with the previous coach. 6 Quote

Popular Post Cratter Posted August 31 Popular Post Posted August 31 Schmidt might have learned from Kaleb + Schmidt use to playing in big time arenas + New locker room gives this program a bump (see Alerus Center 1st year) + First year of head coaches get bumps (see Hak & Brad B) + This year of any year has all the making of being one of the best. How far is yet to be determined.... Game 1 proved all this to be correct so far. 2 3 Quote

Brim006 Posted August 31 Posted August 31 So much for the junk yard dog mentality. Played scared on both sides of the ball when the game was theirs to win. 6 Quote

Oxbow6 Posted August 31 Posted August 31 From the eyeball test DD is the only WR that looks and plays the part. He needs at least 8 targets a game moving forward. Quote

But today has me even more pumped for the season than it did prior. Pack the damn Alerus! - if there was a QB question, I think that is solved. - one game but I will never understand the lack of Ziebarth touches. - Wiltshire’s health is huge. Guy is a beast. - Korey Tai needs even more touches - prevent defense is stopped af f z....Sawyer was spinning it and where was he with 2 minutes left 1 Quote

The defense is the real deal the QB for Kstate is the defending offensive player of the year in big 12, and we had him confused all game except for 3 plays that cost us, he will be a very high draft pick. Jerry my be the TRUTH and I don't know if we are mentally ready for that, he made one bad throw the whole game. The OC needs to figure his !@#$ out but we are deep at WR and TE, RB is interesting cause our leading back from last year only played a few snaps. I think 8 wins is the minimum expectation now. 2 Quote
