You deserve to feel proud.   Just keep in mind that when the puck drops this fall, you're trash.

You as well lol. Thanks for the support.

Yep... The no fun police will take over

To be honest, I went to Clarkson University from 1976 to 1980. They played in Walker Arena, small facility with wood benches and wood floors in the stands. The place was absolutely electric. After I graduated, I returned for the Clarkson St. Lawrence game at the Cheel arena. Everything was concrete and it absorbed every sound. I was so disappointed in the event, time marches on.

The thing is, Western Michigan isn't really a rival of UND's.  Yet.  Maybe that comes later.  I feel it's always right to cheer for a program to win their first.  I was happy for Duluth when they won their first couple, but after that I got sick of them.

You got sick of their fans, not of the hockey they played. They were a force there for a while.

Yep.  They'll become a Country Club crowd, like what happened here.

I was initially a very vocal critic of moving out of Lawson for the reasons you've talked about. I'm a bit skeptical that we can recreate that atmosphere in a new building. We've seen it with new arenas in college hockey. It's just not the same as the old barns.

Maybe, Fersch is selling me on something that isn't reality, but he's talked about how he wants to keep the good parts of Lawson: low ceiling & not going overboard with capacity. They've been flying to all the college arenas in the donor's private jet trying to capture the best things. I'm now pretty excited. And let's be honest, after what just happened on the ice, I'll run through a wall for Fersch. So, new arena it is!!

It was going to be 8k but he said no make it 5k to be more like Lawson. He has a ton of input on what he wants to the donor.

UConn is not a big school by many definitions.

Its a small state school that has a great basketball team for whatever reason

That was the only reason I put them. With the ACC BC is one I’ll forget is in that conference.

I got sick of their deliberate attempts to injure our players and diving. Our fanbase is far more reviled than theirs.

One thing I noticed different this year (maybe it happened earlier but I didn't catch it) is ESPN's commitment to covering the NCAA Hockey tournament. During the regionals and Frozen Four, they kept the studio team on during the period breaks and between games talking about the tournament, rather than send it back to Sportscenter (hardly any of which would be college hockey).  Last night, they had a 30-minute pre-game, which I don't remember from before.  Yes, John is pretty bad when it comes to play-by-play, and Colby just hits an annoying nerve, but at least they follow the season, unlike Barry Melrose.  The regionals had pretty solid broadcast teams, I thought, too.  It would be great to get the Championship game elevated beyond ESPN2 (pretty sure it used to be the flagship, at least some of the time), but overall, a solid effort from the ESPN networks.

I was quite satisfied with the coverage too. Wished they’d have Dave Starman on either the broadcast team or in the studio offering up analysis.

Holden has a pretty good podcast called Nothing But Hockey. I stumbled upon it last week when Schlossman was the guest.

Starman and Saski did color and interviews for Westwood One radio coverage of the Frozen Four.

Yeah, can’t listen to Bucci and Colby…just have the volume turned way down.  Holden would be awesome.

Just read a story in Sports Illustrated that Buium logged 51:41 minutes of ice time last night, which was approximately 64% of total game time and 15 more minutes played than the player logging the second highest amount of ice time.

Meh.  Gotta play a full 60.
