I said it before, but what I think/want will happen is Chyz signed as GM, KG moves on to the NHL, Simmer stays, Jax hires St. Clair and one more assistant with good experience. Quote
tnt Posted Monday at 03:02 PM Posted Monday at 03:02 PM So let me get this straight, the 1883 Collective people are working harder than the coaches at trying to secure talent for the future? Quote

In most cases head coaches are hired with the understanding that upon perceived lack of success they will be fired. If Berry had this success at a school like Colorado College, they would have tolerated a season like 24-25. But not at North Dakota We are kind of spoiled Quote

I would assume the GM counts as an assistant, otherwise why wouldn't every team just call a guy the GM. 1 Quote

Honestly, I'm not sure. GMs aren't common in college hockey, but they are at big-time college football schools. I don't know how the distinction would work. I personally see it as a unique position that's not an assistant. Those are problems for those smarter than I to figure out. I just want Chyzyk to be the our main recruiter of talent. Quote

I suspect, or more accurate I am guessing it applies to "on the bench"... other wise the guy upstairs reviewing stuff would be counted. After Frozen Four, Herter comes on as Associate HC, Karl Gone, maybe Simpson gone, bring in St. Clair & Smaby on bench, Chyzyk as GM/Head of Scouting. In other wild guesses or devils advocate, maybe Berry sacrificed himself when it was clear that someone would take a fall.... Quote

yzerman19 Posted Monday at 03:21 PM Posted Monday at 03:21 PM The average tenure for a fortune 500 exec is 4 years and change. You really don't last long, and very little is controllable or about you....kinda like a big time coach....although they seem to get the benefit of the doubt longer or the long knives don't come out as quickly Quote
