I tried a bubble and I used to fog it up so badly...I didn't have a guy on the bench to towel it clean between shifts, so I quickly went back to a cage.  As an adult I went no visor or face protection...but coaching kids and playing other out of shape old men posed little risk

Karl applied for the job and was part of the first round. He didn’t make it to the second round, I would think perhaps he won’t be coming back.

Curious how you know this information as Schlossman hasn't reported this yet. Where did you read or hear this?

I am much more upset about the state of the program now learning this, and frankly I am surprised Schlossman didn't keep that information in his lock box.

This would stay in his lockbox unless there is more to the story. This is either Schloss; 1) throwing his support behind Chyzyk or 2) creating a segway directly into his next story about how UND is the first to follow NCAA football by hiring a GM assistant coach.

The article did say Dane will be hiring an assistant coach.

Providence was the first to have a GM for hockey or at least that’s what was posted by two writers with Hockey East connections.

Haven't heard many of these stories over the years thankfully. When I was in school in the mid and late 80's they were more frequent.

At one point the Hockey team and Football team were both banned from going out by their coaching staffs. I remember a pretty good brawl at The Bridge one night. The Hockey team put a pretty good beating on the football squad.

We had a couple skirmishes at our house with a few football players who couldn't behave themselves at our All Campus parties.

Wow... aging yourself there.  As am I.

Was standing/stumbling in front of the bridge that night watching the fight.  Felt something brush against my leg.

looked down and saw the bumper of an EGF police cruiser!!!!!

Those were the days.... stumbling back to campus from the east side!

Doesn’t really matter where or how. There are things Schloss doesn’t know or doesn’t report

Recruiting is life blood of a program. It dies without.

 That’s a tell.

yep, in the States you want the guys at the 40 man camp, the guys who play at Caesars, Honeybaked, Mission, Shattuck, Bishop Kerney, Mount St Charles, Neponset, Minutemen, Pens Elite, Long Island Gulls, Buffalo Jr Sabres, Dallas Stars Elite, Mid Fairfield all having UND at the top of their dream schools.

So it really was not the old SS.com saying.....we didn't want 'em but was we didn't even try.

Would be interesting to know when the scouts and coaches expressed UND's lack of appearance on the recruiting trail to the Herald.  If this has widely been known for a while, will it stay under wraps if the same issues remain under the new staff?  Also, is this stuff not even in the wheelhouse of the Athletic Director or administration?   I would think they should know how often coaches are out on the recruiting trail.

remember everywhere outside of MNDakota, they are club teams and super teams.  Say what you want about how it destroys the purity of the game (I would agree mostly) but these kids are the best in massive population centers and Detroit and Boston and NY and Philly and Chicago are hockey towns.  Gotta get them seeing Green!!!!!!

I remember going across the point bridge as a little boy and the mural of KISS on the side of Shennanigans.  I was way to young for the drinking age arbitrage, but I bet those drives were dicey.  Wisconsin had a later bar close than Minnesota too and that bridge from Duluth to Superior was also dicey.

So reading between the lines that both assistant will be retained and that players threatened to leave this basically looks like a coup against BB as @yzerman19 stated awhile back. Wasn't a fan of BB over the past few years but he deserved better than what he got if this is the case.

Berry didn't mention any of his assistants in his farewell letter to the Heraldo. That is telling.

A couple of interesting points from this article.

1) Jackson will no doubt be bringing in another assistant at some point, but it doesn't sound like Simpson or Goehring are going anywhere. At least that's how I read it. Which I don't get, what great or needed value does Goehring bring to the team? Was hoping that Jackson would have the cajones to part with him but it appears not. Disappointing to say the least, this team needs fresh ideas on the bench in the worst way.

2) And thought this was interesting: "Junior hockey coaches and NHL scouts have told the Herald that UND's presence on the recruiting trail needs to grow. How will Jackson solve that?"

In my opinion a failure in his first test of leadership.

et to Brute?

Brad won a natty, was always considered a great person...yes, if it was a coup, he did deserve better.  He deserved an honest disagreement and conversation.

Nobody I've ever known got great due to their successes.  They got great due to their failures.

Not sure what you are saying here - that it's a good move?
