I don't know if Smaby is the best guy or not, but he's from Minneapolis, played at SSM, and is coaching in the USHL (plus he played in Europe). We do need some US connections because the US kids are really good. Look at how many USNDT players get drafted in the 1st round. Those are the kids that Michigan, BC, BU and UM have been getting. Thank you! This is what I’ve been saying since Berry was fired. My first choice was Raboin because of his connections to winning with Carle and USA Hockey. US born NHL players are trending upwards. 1 Quote

I guess those who say there is still a divided locker room must know what they’re talking about. What the hell is going on with a divided locker room? Quote

rockstar45 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Does anyone find Brooke Berrys comment on Sacha’s latest Twitter post suspicious? I heard some rumors that BB was calling players and trying to get them to leave if Dane was named head coach. I just saw this on Sacha’s post and makes me believe it ever more. From what I heard Sacha loved it at UND and was getting pressure from BB to leave. Again, if that’s true, does his letter of “bleeding green” stand true? Just after reading his other daughters comments, it makes it seem that Dane and BB had a big disconnect and BB wanted his recruits OUT of UND. 1 2 Quote
dagies Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Why is no one talking about Colten St. Clair as an assistant option? He's got quite a track record in the USHL in very difficult circumstances. 1 Quote

Idk but I just hope both his daughters muzzle it and move on now. Don’t need to tarnish their dad’s legacy at UND. The one has done enough as is with the trademark fiasco. I feel like the fan base overall holds a lot of respect and reverence for what Bubs did achieve but his daughters can easily diminish that by being so petty. Makes it is worse that they’re both adults for cripes sake. 3 Quote

I don’t disagree with you at all, I think everyone can agree the legacy BB left and that he is a great guy, but if what I heard about after he got let go is true….he does not bleed green. If he was actively trying to get guys to leave the program, he clearly doesn’t bleed green and is not “Sioux forever”. Quote

burd Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I think we should never build an "if it's true" statement on top of rumor. That's exactly how rumor does its harm. None of us is so desperate we need to pay any attention to rumor and hearsay. 4 Quote

Malone would seem the wiser choice, plus he probably has more connections in Canada than Smaby. I don’t mind having multiple defensive guys on the bench. They would have insights on forechecks and breakouts that cause problems for various defenses other teams are running. Quote

Everything that’s happened since he’s gotten hired, every bit of information about their relationship, and now this? Consider that worry eradicated. Quote
