Young.

One of the nation's best.

Former Grand Forks native.

Took high school kids and beat college programs.

Way better than any "UND family member!"

If you want to turn every high octane, creative Forward away from UND....

Chavez moves as quickly in his decision making process like @Wilbur taking out the trash for his better half. Due to this decision didn't even make it through the weekend has me thinking someone has been contacted in the back channels awhile ago. Just a hunch.

They need to hire a high end recruiter…with new age philosophy. National search. I feel bad for Bubs, awesome guy. This thing was kind of getting away from him and recruiting has been falling behind.

…and I do believe some of the players took advantage of his nice guy demeanor.

I don’t buy this.
we don’t need to suck.  I think recruits are committed more to the university than Berry.

We’re going to need to find competent transfer(s) that want to come here. I think James, Livver etc are more likely to sign now. Guys are going to transfer out.

BRING BACK HAK

I like how Goon downvoted this but was all in on Brad Berry and the direction the program was going.

Those are legitimate concerns. However, I think the right hire could mitigate some or most of this damage.

Once they get a new head coach he will likely be done.

If we bring in a coach from outside the UND family it would not be a bad idea to keep Dane on staff in my opinion.

I would be ok with that. But KG has to go as well.

Think out of the box a bit:

Dave Starman

In a 25+ year career, Dave Starman has contributed to the game in just about every conceivable way. He spent 11 years as an NHL scout with Toronto, Montreal, Seattle.  He is a member of USA Hockey Player Development staff in New York State and has spent  25 years as an instructor with the USA Hockey Coaching Education Program.

Boy is Schloss providing the sand bags for Berry and providing the excuses pretty thick in his article.

Who knew that Tucker Poolman's name would come up in a Brad Berry is fired article.

…don’t tell me they had a recruit being shown around when this was happening or Schlossman will go on for years about that.

Care to elaborate on this? Not saying you’re wrong just curious about it as Fohr was someone I thought would be good.

No idea what Starman brings in in a year now, but I would be stocked if he had any interest at all.  Seems to me like he loves what he does now.

UND has a lot of spoiled fans.  Getting the next great coach is far from a sure thing.

Berry's teams almost always had a chance.  Good character, good citizens.  Good players.

Maybe the next coach will be better.

Might not be.
