Hopefully that will be a strength of Eric and his entire staff. Gene Murphy was arguably the best recruiter in the history of UND football. He recruited the players mothers as much, if not sometimes more, than the players. Quote

But I wonder how much influence moms (and dads for that matter) really have these days. Social Media seems to be the god for this generation and the role of parent has dissipated as a result. A lot for most kids, however your point is well taken. The outside influences including social media, advisors, and agents for some kids can be significant. Quote

Agreed. I’m confident Schmidty can relate to 17 yo kids 100x better than Bubba could. Schmidty will be - and perhaps based on transfers already is - a better recruiter than Bubba. Build some of the relationships early and they could pay off down the road if a kid is in a situation where they are looking at a full depth chart in front of them. 1 Quote
