OK, that would make some sense.    We don't have a DT over 300 lbs........potentially going to get pushed around.

Have to hope the two FCS transfers, Olagbaju (St. Thomas, and who is over 300 lbs by the way) and Henry (Sac St), make major gains this summer and fall. They are both early in their careers with a lot of potential…

I don't think SDSU had a DT much over 285 last year and they did just fine.

Time will tell. Everyone will be skeptical until we actually see the run defense produce on the field, and there’s ways to make that happen with the current group…

They also didn't play a 3-4 front and neither did SDSU.

I think most of us are referencing SDSU and NDSU because UND is moving to a 4 man front

what's the saying..

it's not the size of the dog but the size of the fight in the dog

Unless you are as undersized as Jake Rastas.  Quick history lesson, freshman All-American because the whole LB crew got hurt.  Next 3 seasons a special teamer and back-up LB at 215 pounds.  At 235 probably a 4 - year starter.

I thought they'd bring in more LBs and DTs due to having a ton more players available in the spring portal. These positions still feel thin - especially when it comes to experience - even with the additions. Hope the guys in those groups are the hardest working all summer. And hopefully the coaching staff really likes what they've seen from who they already have.

My worry about these positions stems from years and years of getting bullied in the trenches by top MVFC teams.

Like someone said, coaching matters. Hope to see a massive & longgggg overdue improvement in the defense this fall.

He was an absolute dawg. He was also an absolute speed bump.
