Are we guessing coaches were throwing words because of a nasty scrum at the end of the game or cheap Play one way or the other? Not often you see Berry do that with another coach so it had to be something pretty bad I think it was contact to TJ’s head that fired up UND. 2 Quote
Wilbur Posted December 14 Author Posted December 14 Could sit 2nd in the league going into the break with a win tomorrow. Find a way Saturday. 3 Quote
Popular Post tnt Posted December 14 Popular Post Posted December 14 I really like Cody Croal’s game. Hopefully all the time and situations these guys are playing in, will pay dividends down the road. 8 Quote

Not often you see Berry do that with another coach so it had to be something pretty bad MacDonald was just evening things out with a nice crosscheck at the end of the period. Not sure why Larson got so mad; they had just run our goalie so it was kind of expected that there would be some retaliation. 1 1 Quote

brianvf Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Schmaltz got hammered in the faceoff dot. Only won 8 of 23. Wilkie with a great game, won 14 of 19 faceoffs, had the goal plus another couple chances. 2 Quote

omahasioux1 Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Still sloppy passing, tons of turnovers in our zone and can not hit the net. Quote

1972 Posted December 14 Posted December 14 In person, we looked better( other than the first 5-10 minutes of the 1st). Passing seemed better, and not nearly as many bad misses of the net. Intensity was better at certain times, but still down a bit from where we would like to see it. TJ looked good, but he had plenty of puck luck on his side. Easily could have been 3 or 4 goals scored by each team..overall, I would say a grade of B on the night. Need to find a way to finish of the sweep, and go into the break on a nice positive note 1 Quote
Blackheart Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Carter Wilkie gets off the milk carton with an easy tip courtesy of Mr. Boisvert. Hope that jump starts him a little; last goal I remember him scoring was Friday night at Mankato. 1 Quote

neoflex Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Anytime you can beat a top 10 team, you did well. I only got to watch the highlights. But WOW, St. Cloud State's goalie was freaking amazing. Totally robbed the Sioux a number of goals tonight. Obviously a much better effort tonight from the boys. Need to match that if not more tomorrow. For at least tonight, the sky is not falling. Good win. 3 Quote
brianvf Posted December 14 Posted December 14 https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-coach-brad-berry-livid-about-hit-on-goalie-t-j-semptimphelter Quote Berry and Huskies coach Brett Larson exchanged words on the bench. “I'm not happy right now,” Berry said. “I'm not going to get myself into trouble here, but that wasn't a great hockey play by them. For it to be a two-minute minor … That's a five-minute major and a game misconduct for sure. Player safety is a big thing in all sports, professional hockey, but especially in college hockey. When the goaltender’s in the crease, that's his spot. Quote In the first period, UND defenseman Caleb MacDonald pulled a puck back off the line. Rookie defenseman Jayden Jubenvill did the same in the second period. “That's kind of what winning looks like,” Semptimphelter said. “I'm really proud of our guys for just bearing down and making sure we’re keeping the puck out of our net, so we can play offense on the other end.” Semptimphelter saw the replay of MacDonald’s save on the video board. “He’s my roommate,” Semptimphelter said, “so I told him thanks for grabbing me there. It's awesome. That's what it's all about, right? We're just competing, and I'm really proud of the guys for getting the job done there." 1 3 Quote
