We aren't on this list. Hoping this is the last time we are not on this list going forward. Our schedule is tough this year with going to K State snd Montana on the road early on. Would definitely turn some heads if we can pull off an upset at Montana.

Sac state.

  • Final 2024 Record: 3-9, 1-7 Big Sky; Never-Too-Early Ranking: 12
  • Two Games to Know: at South Dakota State (Aug. 30); at UC Davis (Nov. 22) Sac state moved from #11 to #12 on last years record 3-9.

Preseason rankings are basically worthless. Nobody really knows what will happen until we start playing games.

Craig Haley will deny it and even make money off a t-shirt, but he ignores UND every year. Pure conjecture on Sac State and if a team like Youngstown or Southern Ill brought in the transfers we did he would instantly be calling them "teams to watch".

1000% correct.  Hard to move up easy for some teams to stay in the polls after losing.  Craig is Big Sky first except when UND was in the Big Sky.  Still no love for UND.

I wasn't surprised we weren't listed or mentioned at all. Our propensity to crap the bed in big games or playoff games,  combined with coaching change.  However not sure if he realizes the coaching change will improve that situation, he might realize it but still want to dog us anyway. Think SIU was 2-6 in MVFC last year but they are listed.

Looking forward the the Schmidt era of being a consistently better team where people are forced to acknowledge us. Hoping that SDSU game late in the year has big implications.  Given our track record I'm definitely not going to get cock about anything, we need to prove it on the field.

Not rank us.  But some of the others Sac State,  yotes.  Damn they lost bunches of guys.

Could ask the same question about Sac State and Southern Illinois.

SI's two "biggest" games are Southwest Missouri and Youngstown State. How do those measure up to NDSU, USD and SDSU?

I agree with the saying "You have to earn respect" but until last year we were right up there for previous years. Why doe Sac State and SI get to hand around after basically the same year as we had last year. Agreed pre-season means nothing and certainly  not to the players, but it would be nice to get a footnote once in awhile.

Control what’s yours to control.

Agreed, very confident we will. Fan sites are for ranting :)

Schedule will always be tough. To be the best you’ve got to beat the best. Enough schedule whining … UND program and its fans need to move on to bigger, better topics.

*12-0 in ‘25

*if that pesky Valparaiso don’t get us…

Well this is cool! Hope they start putting it to use right away (defensive line and LB)

Will be interesting to see how many sign on. Levels of giving - $50/month (new grad) , $125/month (1st team), $200/month (Natty).

So, is this considered a collective?  In this case, it is specifically for football, run by UND football alumni?  And the contributors are solely UND football alumni, or can the general public donate as well?

Idk what the plan is with this but when I first saw it, I assumed it would be more similar to whatever the Jacks have that got them those white helmets. A player led organization. Would seem odd to compete with the 1883 imo

The collective 1883 is for all sports.  I would guess the NDFAN would be solely for football.  I'm just guessing but I would understand.

IMO a lot of 1883 will be going to hockey (since it can be designated), so this is a good idea. Lots of football alumni out there that hopefully will step up.

Hopefully football alumni and fans step up to support the collective.  It's the only way to keep AWESOME football players at fighting hawks nation.

Tough competition early in the season is not too bad. K-State and Montana will be formidable opponents. Go Sioux

1883 has operating costs so the more sports and contributions the better to spread those costs out.  An individual can contribute to a general fund or sport specific up to 2 sports.(my understanding at the time)  You also get some store credit for some 1883 Swag that is sharp!!
