"Cross check"...yes. Slashing...no. Based on insider info not egregious enough for any disciplinary action but in today's society got protect a teen year old's feelings so that her self esteem is high enough to start her OF page at 18.

HS hockey related but on the MN side. Yesterday the Spud girls played Andover in the 2A 5th place game. Teams split during season with each team winning by a goal. Officiating crew was 2 female referees and 2 male linesman.  13 penalties were called the the Spuds with Andover being awarded four 5x3 PPs. Andover scored on all four 5x3 PPs enroute to a 7-0 win. Both male linesman and the Andover coach apologized to the Spuds coaching staff for the lopsided officiating per reliable source. Spuds had 12 Sr. players out of 20 girls rostered. Tough way to have your HS career end in that fashion.

That's embarassing if the teams were that even during the regular season.  Having not seen the game though, it's tough to complain about the reffing.

Numbers are skewed in Minot as well.  Kids cutting themselves/quitting hockey because there aren't 2 HS teams and dont' wanna play Junior Gold.  Minot dropped the ball on this one in the worst way but announcing the split with a school board vote, then caving to the parents who want to win.  

Junior Gold should be eliminated until both teams are cutting kids and there's enough to have a JG.  It's pathetic for Minot Youth Hockey to not get behind the second HS team first by eliminating JG until it's necessary.
