Agree, didn't capitalize on some second chances but really got the raw end of the deal in the examples I mentioned. Does Duluth even get to OT had they had to play the night before and are the even playing? I guess they capitalized on our misfortune. I was frustrated that they put ND and UMD in the same Regional. Seems like they were making it easier on NCHC to make the National. Quote
Esoteric Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Sorry about the mistake on previous quote “Seems like they were making it easier on NCHC to make the National.”. Actually I revised it before sending and cut out key information Should have said making it easier for non-NCHC teams to make the nationals. Quote

siouxfaninseattle Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 And Boisvert probably got snubbed because he's playing college hockey in the US. Quote

brianvf Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/schlossman-a-deep-dive-into-the-und-hockey-teams-first-half Quote In the NCAA tournament picture, UND has a lot of work to do. It is 22nd in the Pairwise Rankings and needs to climb, at a minimum, to No. 15 to have a shot at making the Fargo Regional, and in turn, the NCAA Frozen Four. Splits the rest of the way won't do the trick. UND will likely have to go 10-6 or better to be in the top 15 when the league playoffs begin. Quote With young players emerging and veterans regaining health, there's a lot of promise for the second half. But UND's schedule is even more difficult. It is done playing Miami, which appears headed for a ninth-place finish in the league. It has four games left against NCHC leader Western Michigan and difficult road trips to Denver and Arizona State, which is expected to have first-line center Cruz Lucius back. The difficult schedule gives UND an opportunity to climb in the Pairwise Rankings, and that's the first priority if UND wants to achieve its ultimate goal of lifting a trophy at the NCAA Frozen Four in St. Louis. siouxfaninseattle Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I think 10-6 is very doable. But I don't think 15 will get them in the tournament - 14 is usually safe. it looks like winning the conference tournament will be the way to Fargo. Quote

It is still 2024...we have not even hit 2025 and this is unfortunately the prevailing thought. Will most likely will be the 3rd season of 4 (count Sioux Falls) that this program has failed to make the NCAAs while hosting a regional. Truly a pathetic scenario if they miss again this season. I know...I know the deep state lackeys will say "...but the Penrose titles". 5 Quote

If they can’t make a Fargo regional in 2019, 2023, and 2025, then the AD needs to be the second person fired immediately after the head hockey coach. I’ll continue to say it, if Brad doesn’t make a regional final this season, then he doesn’t need an 11th season behind the bench. 4 Quote
