Then it might be time to reach into the Bag of Cliches: "make them defend" "play a full sixty" "make every shift count" "improve our zone entries" "defend the blue line" "play below the dots" "improve our play away from the puck" "finish our chances" etc etc... 1 Quote

He sounds like he's holding guys accountable and is making sure that the boys don't take this series lightly. You can tell he's fired up and really wants to make a run in the 2nd half. He also alluded to there being some changes to lines this coming weekend now that all bodies are ready to go. Going to be a heck of a physical series. I was told it wasn't just a little bit of work on the 3x3, but A LOT of work on the 3x3 lol 2 1 Quote

Thing I agree with most is giving James and Strinden a shot with Perron. What absolutely won't think will happen is Schmaltz. He seems to get a little of the Hain/Senden treatment. He'll play top line tomorrow before he centers 4th line. Yeah we have to get Gaber on a different line altogether because his offensive weapons are not getting properly utilized. We all know what he's capable of and if he gets on a line where he can be popping as a senior, this team could be scary. 1 Quote

Goon Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Also, Strinden makes an interesting point about the noise at 2:40. 2 Quote

The team must get the job done in 60 minutes. That applies to both nights. Also quit making unnecessary square passes that the other team figures out and breaks up the play, or worse takes off for a breakaway. Be selfish once and awhile and take the shot in the 2 vs 1 situations. 1 1 Quote

Yeah, most of the "what the team needs to do" posts are pure cliche. We all do it, but it's amusing. Quote

High risk plays that would make sense in 5v5 but obviously have to adjust. The one the comes to mind is that attempted pass(by Berg?) vs DU to a streaking forward who was squarely wedged between 2 defenders. Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Unofficial Israels recruiting trip this weekend. Sounds like a solid captain. Quote

brianvf Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 I'm thinking we see a split this weekend. Alaska is gonna be playing desperate hockey, this is their last chance to move up a decent amount in the PWR. Plus, UND's offense has been struggling since the comeback win over DU last month. Quote

Screw that. Time to reestablish ourselves as masters of our own house. Anything less than a sweep is unacceptable. Quote

With Perron on the 3rd line it’s almost like having a guy with a killer shot out there 3/4 of the game. Love that gaber is away from Omac and Blake and I love that James is in the top 6 where he belongs. Consider me concerned with us not having Persson in. This is bound to be a tight game and every save and shot will count . Let’s commit to some super strong D in our own end please Quote
