I am not a coach for a reason, but I almost rather try to go for the 4th and 2, instead of short yardage punt that only nets 15 yards, and then immediately lose those yards on the next play anyway.

Tommy also let up, didn't slide but gave up on trying to fight for the extra 2 yards. If going to take the hit take the extra yards instead of slowing up as he isn't going to juke them.
