I like it but I would've liked a few different guys. Probably would have went with Smith or Medved as my choice but Coyle doesn't mind rolling the dice a little more. I knew the search was close to coming to a close yesterday but it sounded more like it would be tomorrow. Believe Smith and Ben Jacobson were two of the other final choices. I don't exactly know why but I just never really wanted Gates so I was happy when Marquette opened up and it seemed like he was more focused there. Will be interesting to see if Utah goes after Smith. Sounds like they have a couple alums as NBA assistants that are also in the running. Really want to see which way Indiana goes as well. Have to think they make a hard run at Porter Moser. I hope he can be the one that stops the run of Minnesota Recruits to the state of Wisconsin. Those are the recruits that he needs to win over on a consistent basis. Quote

There had always been a buzz about how little Pitino really recruited as he just left a lot to assistants but there are stories out now of just how bad it was and it was worse than I could've imagined. Lot of good buzz that Johnson will change that and change that quick. Could see some transfer portal additions soon and some very positive real possibilities to fill his staff. Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 Our guy Craig Smith is going to be the Utah coach Somewhere, Bill Walton is smiling as 2 Pac 12 teams are in the Elite 8 One of those team is coached by Wayne Tinkle, you might remember him from such coaching stops as Montana. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 By the way: I have no idea how Arkansas is in the Elite 8, they looked awful for most of their games and yet they find a way to turn it on and win. Quote

sioux24/7 Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 Kevin Obanor ends up at Texas Tech. I’m surprised that Max decided to come back to ORU vs. going to a bigger school. They look to be a handful again. Quote
