Hopefully he can call a competent game in addition to being good with recruits. New territory for him and I'm sure there will be stumbles, but hopefully he'll put the players on the roster in a position to succeed.

I hope he retains WR duties or takes on TEs instead. I'd like to see a QB coach who isn't also saddled with OC duties.

I think it was a cost savings move. Hard to get a good one with what rudy was making so hire the cheaper option and give others raises.

He's QB coach. We get the new blood for OL and WR coaches. Hope he kills it, great guy.

if it was so obvious that danny was getting it why didn't bubba do this after the idaho game...we might have beaten incarnate word yesterday??

Should have been done after last season, or at the least during this season.

I expect him to have a very different style of playcalling. Technically not new blood but it will be a big change. We still get two new assistants so there will be new blood still.

I am absolutely shocked a former UND player was hired.  Not.  That is all this program does.  How about actually doing a search for once.  You wouldn't see NDSU calling Kevin Feeney if their OC position opened up.

this reminds me of 2013 when muss promoted two guys that weren't ready....josh and luke. i hope this wasn't a cost savings thing bc a 1st year oc makes me nervous

Muss didn’t get a call. Was told that only one other guy interviewed and he was on the staff currently also.

Actually historically they have promoted or hired within their system.  Either a former coach or someone with ties.  

I don’t mind the hire.  I think Danny will put in all the necessary time to learn from other staffs on how to run the philosophy he wants to run.  The key will be the OL hire and if they can add another position coach.  That will be a big hire if we can get some experience that has ties to our recruiting foot print.  What can he bring to that.
