Many schools that have made it have one, like Western Kentucky and Austin Peay. Would be easy to open up the Betty and show the ESPNU show at 8 PM. I heard that Pryor said at booster luncheon that team just wanted to watch on own. They had watch party last year. He also said on wednesday coach's show that a few weeks ago he told the team they would not accept a NIT bid. His argument was that we are here to go to the dance and the girls had missed plenty of school. Called it "not inviting tourney" or something like that. Now would Faison make them play in NIT especially if we got to host?

An NVIT bid could have likely been at home which would be a program booster. Faison would go for hosting if there was open space at the Betty, with near record crowds. Suspect it will be the kind of competition that UND would do well against, including P5's.

SiouxVolley
The other teams in that four team subregional are UNI and Louisville. Minnesota is a #7 overall seed this time, unlike last year when it was s the #1 overall. The four top seeds are Penn St, Florida Stanford and Kentucky. Kentucky is a surprise as the B1G didn't get much respect.
SiouxVolley
One big surprise is that High Point at an at large bid, even though it was rated below UND. High Point and Radford, both from the Big South, go bids. Sac St made the NVIC, and two teams UND beat will host in that tournament: Ole Miss and Green Bay. Smoggy
Due to our location it will be tough to ever not get placed against Minnesota in first round. You'd think the NCAA would at least try and avoid consistent repeats of first round games.

I'm guessing that getting sent to Minneapolis will be the most likely destination as long as Minnesota is one of the seeded teams. What would be nice is to be ranked high enough to play the other game of that bracket.
Dustin
I noticed Denver was high enough to not play a seeded team. Looking for that type of development for our program.
RogerRoger12
I think we could have been playing someone else if we wouldn’t have lost to a bad Montana State team. We finished in the top 80 in RPI with that loss, probably would have finished in the top 60 if we win that one. A top 60 finish may make us to good for a first round matchup with the Gophers! All that said, heck of a season, Good Luck ladies!!

Guess I skimmed it too fast. Interest may include offers, especially with vb full scholarships. 6'3" gals aren't that common and are usually offered a scholly if there is interest but defensive specialists are often offered a roster spot without scholarship. Don't know beyond that.

Morgan answered, “UND is a great school for me to earn my degree. Their volleyball program competes at a high level, the facilities are amazing, and their fan base is unbelievable. The people of Grand Forks, ND really support the university’s athletics. I also connected instantly with the coaching staff and future teammates. I know it’s going to be cold, but I know I’ll get over it!”

UND1983
So, can UND win a set this year? Are the Gophs down from last year?
SiouxVolley
37 minutes ago, UND1983 said: So, can UND win a set this year? Are the Gophs down from last year? If they play like they did in the 4th set against Sac St, they will be competitive. If the play like the 2nd and 3rd sets against Sac St, it will be a total wipe out. The Gophers graduated a lot, but they have younger very talented kids filling in ably. This team's power game just seemed to appear when UND was going to end their season. Knew they had it in them, but it needs to make another appearance now.
geaux_sioux
I like to think our program is legit. But in reality, we aren't until we start ruining some NCAA tournaments for bluebloods. That starts tonight, I hope.
