Pogo likely to sign, I believe this was expected. He'll play a couple years in the A before he gets his chance.

That one hurts, really, really disappointing. I'd put this in the same boat as LJ leaving last year, would have been a key part of next years team. Now, I couldn't be more pessimistic about everyone else. I'll never understand a guy leaving early that will never play in the NHL.

I believe he's graduating this spring.  Also, he may carve out a 3rd 4th line role eventually, it will take some time though.

pogo's chance at the NHL is a Malone or Vandevelde path- 4 years in college- show up at camp a physical beast with an extra skill set Like face-offs or pk...turning now and I think he's a solid 6 year AHLer with 40 NHL games along the way.

Add Rowney to this. Who on here would have expected him to make it?

That would make sense.  Coming back next year would have helped his O game. I understand that when you graduate u get a job.  But I don't like this trend of kids leaving after three because they've graduated already.

I get a natty team unloading but losing all these guys when they struggled throughout the year hurts.  I heard that pogo was leaving all along but due to him having a bad year I though there was a chance he'd stay.

Especially guys that clearly could use another year.

I don't think he had a bad year...I'd call it a decent year

Two great problems to have, eh?

You're right, probably shouldn't have said bad.  More very average.  .65 pts per playing top 6 role the entire year?  That's average.

Hard work pays off, Carter is a great guy.  AND YES I DID

Wouldn't Pogo be kind of a in between guy right now? Not skilled enough for a top six role, but not quite a 3rd or 4th line type right now.

He's gotta be working for a bottom 6

I think if you asked Pogo he wouldn't be happy with his year.  He has developed quite a bit since he got to UND but I thought he'd for sure be around the 40-50 point area when the season got over with.

Good luck if you do go Pogo.

I didn't know that he'll graduate this Spring, definitely makes more sense that he'd leave. Now we really do have to cross our fingers with Jost, Gersich, Wolanin and Johnson.

I talked about depth in another thread, but next years team had the chance for real depth for the first time in a long time next year at Forward. Let's hope Poganski and Boeser are the only two that are leaving.
