The twins have enough games left against Detroit and the rest of the bottom feeders that its almost impossible.....

but if 40+ years of Minnesota sports experience has taught me anything...

a bet that Twins slip and actually miss the playoffs completely, isnt completely foolish.

Completely agree.  They have a rough stretch coming up this week.  Three with the Nats, then the tribe with Bieber and Clevinger in Cleveland.

After that its basically down hill, but a 3-3 week would be huge.

I realize some of the entitled attitude is fostered in college, and in some cases the supplements encouraged,  hhhNDSUhh, but I wish more teams would just agree those guys aren’t worth dealing with, but it seems most fans will excuse any behavior if they are playing for their team.

Try watching "QB1: Beyond the Lights" on Netflix some time. Some of these kids get it as early as high school. The attitude gets fostered in high school for some of these kids by their coaches, peers, and some of the worst offenders are the parents.

You see it with the big time D1 football and basketball recruits too doing their reveal specials that, unfortunately, ESPN eats up.

(Sorry for being off topic, back to Twins talk)

Luckily the Twins are better on the road lately so maybe they can repay the favor and take two out of three in their park? ;)

I see them going 1-5 winning one of of the next 2 series. 19 games left.

Washington 1-2

Cleveland  0-3

Chicago 2-1

KC 2- 2

Detroit 2-1

KC 1 - 2

So those games bring the Magic num down to 6, meaning Twins need 6 more cleveland losses in addition to the twins series. Cleveland plays LA, MN, Detroit, Philly, ChicagoWS, and Washington.

Twins MUST steal one in Cleveland.

I think they will get two in Cleveland.

I’m optimistic

Sep 9:

Minnesota 88 55 (19 games remain)
Cleveland 83 61 (18 games remain)

Twins magic number*: 14

If the Twins stumble and go 8-11 over 19 games as speculated above, Cleveland has to go 13-5 ... and that's just for a tie.

*Calc'd by taking 163 - MIN wins - CLE losses

KC.....last series playing a bunch of minor leaguers......2-1.

Injuries are piling up at the wrong time

I'm getting that old familiar feeling we slip into the playoffs right into the waiting arms of the Yankees...again.

If they make it. Far from over

Berrios the story.  Hopefully that wasn't a one time thing that happens for every starter from time to time.

Perez tomorrow with a rested pen, liked how he attacked the Red Sox, hope he can give them a chance tomorrow.
