It sounded like a good idea to get students to the game, but in reality 90% or more of the students come for the tailgating than leave. The ones that make it into the game leave at halftime. Besides that they leave it a mess when they leave. Why is the Alerus/und providing them another place to party. Open the lot back up to paid parking or charge the student the same amount for their tailgating spots as the general public. End of Rant. Wondering what happened to the garbage in the student lot last game. Usually when we drive out we go around that area because of all the cans, water bottles and other garbage on the ground. Last Saturday it was pretty clean. Guessing a crew came in cleaned up during the game or else the students miraculously found the garbage cans. Quote

I could be wrong though People go to the football game for the atmosphere, that include everything from Concessions, the band, tailgating(if your into that), energy from the crowd. If it was just to watch football you and stay home and watch on TV. I guess it is just me, but I think it is rude for them to be kicking the ball around while the band is playing. They have plenty of time to do that after the band is done and before that game. I've made my point. Time to move on. 2 Quote

They do need to get out at halftime and get some reps in but no reason can't co-exist with the band. I wasn't paying close attention but I did see the punters kicking across the field toward the visitors bench to avoid the band. Kickers could just hit some shorter stuff until the band clears. Omaha had bleachers behind end zones when I played. It was before teams put up nets behind the goal posts. During pregame warmups I hit a college girl right in the face. I felt awful about it. 1 Quote

wheelsup Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Most of the things people are complaining about are just organization and attention to detail.. the intro is as bad as it’s ever been.. I’m a little tired of complaining about it.. go to a und hockey game.. an ndsu football game.. I’m not sure why the Mickey Mouse crap is tolerated at the und football game. I mean it when I say Davies high school does a better job. I’m in full support of the drone / top gun / aviation idea. they have stepped it up a bit on the clothing available for purchase side of things.. but still pretty mediocre.. Coors lites are always cold inside so no complaints there either. the alerus itself is a good place to watch football.. exiting the parking lot is the worst part.. other then that. No real complaints on my side. 1 Quote

Ultimately it comes back to just 1-2 folks who are in charge of this and they apparently don’t care. Either they randomly start caring (unlikely) or someone else gets put in charge of this; best solution would be opening up an entirely new position for this (Alerus Center Football Experience Director or something of this sort…).
