Sodbuster Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Same thing I thinking. A bit selfish. He seems to mess around with the puck till a Russian is able to take it away. Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Same thing I thinking. A bit selfish. I agree. I've never been a fan of Eichel for this exact reason. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 USA again trying to pass across the ice with a couple of Russian sticks in the way...31 seconds left in the game. Quote
cberkas Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 3-2 Russia too little to late for the Americans. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Where was Eichel trying to send that back-hand pass to? Or was he trying to back-hand a SOG from just inside the blue line? Quote
Sodbuster Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Well, that's that. Will Nick S. and Mathews be playing in GF tomorrow night? Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 My feed broke up after the game. What was with the scrum? Quote
Goon Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 What a pathetic effort by team USA. Some poor decision by the coaching staff and didn't make adjustments from the game against Canada. 1 Quote
Goon Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Where was Eichel trying to send that back-hand pass to? Or was he trying to back-hand a SOG from just inside the blue line? The kid was lights out in the NCAA, but meh in the WJC. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 USA needs to figure out how to beat Russia in this tournament. As for the rest of the way, I'm putting the ABC rule into effect. Anyone...but...Canada. Quote
runaroundsioux Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Someone should have told our defensemen, if you hold the zone you don't have to skate near as much. Quote
cberkas Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Someone should have told our defensemen, if you hold the zone you don't have to skate near as much. And clear loose pucks from the front of the net. Quote
scpa0305 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Where was Eichel trying to send that back-hand pass to? Or was he trying to back-hand a SOG from just inside the blue line? Guy was playing to showcase his skills the entire tourney. Quote
NoiseInsideMyHead Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Every time I hear the Russian anthem, I can't help but think of this scene from Red Dawn. (And that was 30 years ago!) Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 All hale osucky USA 11 Denmark 3 Finland 4 USA 1 Czech Republic 5 USA 2 Canada 3 USA 2 Hello relegation round. Figured it out yet, gfhockey, or do you just want to fire everyone? Quote
90siouxfan Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Outdoor ice conditions have been questionable at points in the past (see: LA, or Wrigley Field, heck, see Omaha but that wasn't pro). Stars can get hurt walking out from the tunnel, but why put them in conditions (poor ice) that increase the risk? As far as "buzz", look even at this site: the luster of "winter classic" isn't what it was.I'll say it again: The minute this costs an owner a player you'll see teams staying away from the gimick.PS - Playing outdoors, on an outdoor football or baseball field, differentiates ... how?'Put it at the North Pole Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Captain Jack went thru the handshake line and didn't say a word to a single Russian player and simply stared blankly ahead. C'mon, Jack, be better than that. Quote
brianvf Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Eichel is skilled, but tried to do too much himself all tournament. Lot of weak penalties today, with most being called against the US. The Russian gameplan appeared to be to fall or grab their faces anytime a stick got within a foot of their heads. This was a highly-skilled group of US forwards, but for whatever reason they just didn't click all tourney. Not nearly as much offense as what they were capable of...especially on the PP. Looked horrible most times. Quote
gfhockey Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I wish Hak would coach Canada. Then they can choke in big games too and us can win. Quote
AZSIOUX Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 Well that flat out sucked. Awful job by coaches and players. Wow...rest nick until next week emd and go sioux!! One thing noticed was tons of one on one plays for usa. Piss poor lines, game plans and execution Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I wish Hak would coach Canada. Then they can choke in big games too and us can win. You should contact USA Hockey immediately and volunteer your services. With your keen insight and knowledge of the game, there's little doubt you could lead the team to a plethora of gold metals, er, medals. Of course, you might not be interested in the job as rules probably prohibit you from drinking beer while on the bench. 3 Quote
gfhockey Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 My forte isn't coaching It's drilling oil If I was doing bad at my job i should be fired too Quote
