AZSIOUX Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 East vs West powers match up at The Ralph this weekend Providence split @ ohio state two weekends back. Both overtime games. They tied USAu18 3-3 this last week and had the weekend off Sioux are 3-1 after sweeping CC in the springs Two top 5 teams! Easily the match up of college hockey world this weekend. Two top tier goal goalies in Mcintyre and Jon gilles 6'5 215 Go sioux!! Quote
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Score early and often, let's get Gillies rattled Quote
keikla Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Gilles didn't play against the U18 team. Injury or just letting the backup get some exhbition experience? Quote
Oxbow6 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Will be interesting to see if Drake plays this series. Quote
SiouxForever Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Just keep the same personnel we had in springs, unless injury then Murphy gets a shot. Keep rotating Keaton, Mattson or whomever. Gage and Stetcher stay put for now with their play. Gage - Please quit taking penalties every game. Parks - You played well in Springs. Now let's get some goals. It's time. Overall D - Tighten up for this series on the backend. Forwards - continue to make small passes and plays. Keep crashing the net. Get pucks on net. Let's go! Quote
SiouxScore Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Hopefully Caggiula is cleared and ready to go this weekend but if not I would guess we just see the Saturday night lineup with Chyzk added to it. Quote
nhockey30 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Huge matchup, need to show these east boy how we rock the Ralph!! It needs to be packed and loud! Should be a good matchup and probably low scoring. I agree we need to stay out of the box in order to win. Quote
fargosioux Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 A sweep would be huge for our pairwise ranking later in the season. This is the kind of series you need to win if you want to be a #1 seed in Fargo. Quote

darell1976 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I got my tickets for Friday's game. My son's first hockey game and he cannot wait to go! Quote

It will make a difference on who else is in the bracket though. Would be nice to be a #1 seed and hypothetically have a little easier road in a lose and you're done scenario. Quote
hrkac Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Key will be to get net front traffic and not let Gilles get a clean look at shots. calling Pattyn, Johnson, etc.... Quote

All I'm saying. Quote

Agreed it would be nice to not be seeded 1 and hopefully the Gophers are seeded higher and end up in Fargo...I like our chances against them in our back yard as opposed to Boston...since we will probably see BC out there playing in their back yard...god forbid BC ever has to play west of the Mississippi Quote

That's actually a good point if they get sent out east. If it's not in Fargo, South Bend isn't that much different. Manchester and Providence, however, would be much tougher. Quote

I disagree completely, my perfect scenario woud be to get the 1 seed and the Gophers to sit at home wondering why their #1 preseason ranking didn't get them into the tournament with a .500 record. 2 Quote

As we’ve seen in years past there have been a few up start teams to take down high seeds in the tournament….ideally I’d like to see some other team knock off the Gophers however to be the best you have to beat the best and I think UND’s best chances are in their backyard….plus I’m a little selfish as I would love to see a Sioux /Gopher game in Fargo….especially since I already have tickets, however if that isn’t going to happen then yes I think we go for the #1 seed Quote

True but I would be pretty surprised with the team they have and the way their conference has looked early on to not see them in the tournament. Quote
scpa0305 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 The boys are going to have to bring their A game this weekend. PC will be very good. They are going to see our rink and instantly be jacked (similar to BSU, except they will have a lot more skill). Quote

Plain and simple. We play like we did on Saturday night in the Springs, not many teams in the country can hang. Quote
