They are still a full fledge member, so of course they are going to vote on league matters. I think eventually you will see Miami exit the NCHC and go to the CCHA. They really haven't done anything since Rico was let go to show that they are serious about their program.

Also, Miami isn't going to pay $2 million because that isn't even what the exit cost is.

I was told the exit fee to leave the NCHC is between 1.5 and 2 million dollars. I believe that is still a ballpark figure to get out of the league.

The range is probably related to how much notice is given. 

I believe the MWC was: 
- two years notice: $x
- one year notice: $2x

I've never dug into it but I have read in multiple articles that its $1 million. Is it possible that the exit fee has gone up?

I agree, I wouldn't let them skate out for free, as that would set a bad precedent for the league.

Exit fee is equal to one year of operating expenses, which is typically north of $1 million. Not sure how high it has gotten recently.
