Westside
Kyle Myers now follows Kalen DeBoer. Is this a sign? FWIW, Daniella Irle from the search committee is also following DeBoer.
dakotadan
Sorry, I took the week off from responding to the thread so that I could provide for my family. The fact that it's down to just these 2 names makes me sick. Why have we wasted a month on this? +1 I'm about ready to just become a Griz fan.

Cratter
Or maybe Myers just met DeBoer while he was here for his interview and liked the guy so he decided he should follow him. I don't think anyone can follow bubba.
sioux24/7
Everybody who is complaining about the hire, why don't you give the guy a chance to prove himself.
Hawkster
I can't believe that Faison couldn't find anyone better than DeBoer. The NAIA angle turns me off, just not enough D1 experience. Time will tell, but I'm reserving judgment, if it is in fact him. gfhockey seems to change positions with the wind.
gfhockey
sweet we just got a former NAIA coach! And a guy who coached a lame duck siu offense! awesomeguys #thinkingpositive
Csonked Out
I would imagine he would recruit Ryan Grubb to be the OC. Coached ad SDSU in 05-06 and current OC at Sioux Falls. Lists his recruiting area as Wisconsin which could be good for us.
sioux24/7
Well Bubba supporters, you still have a chance. Tom Miller @tommillergf 1m Despite internet rumors (the best kind) UND hasn't made an offer to Kalen DeBoer or Bubba Schweigert. My guess late Mon. Or early Tues. dakotadan
sweet we just got a former NAIA coach! Lennon was a NAIA coach when UND hired him as head coach. Bubba coached at a NAIA school.
BostonSiouxFan
While I didn't want to see Bubba as the next Head Coach, I can't believe Faison thinks a guy with NAIA head coaching experience and mediocre results as an FCS coordinator was the answer. Once again, UND is content to be irrelevant in a sport that isn't hockey. Do you think for a minute that a hockey head coaching search would be handled this way? This would be like hiring a guy who won a couple club hockey national championships as a coach. If I was one of the applicants that didn't get the job, I'd be happy right now. I wouldn't want to be part of a program that clearly isn't serious about winning at the FCS level. That being said, I'll support the new coach and the team, but I don't see this going well. jdub27
If it is DeBoer, I'm happy he can come put back together what he helped destroy (from the opposing sideline). His head coaching record speaks for itself, I don't care what level it was at. You don't end up with as many national championships as total losses and not know how to coach. His results as an OC were a mixed bag, it is what it is but that is not what he's being hired to do. Bring in a strong assistant staff and get the ship turned around.
