geaux_sioux Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 The way the fourth line of Pattyn Ramrod and Jim played last night they deserve a nickname. Quote
Gma loves hockey Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 sdj sdd prd prj How about Pattyn, Rodwell, Jim, the prj purge line? Quote
farce poobah Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 The "General" Tire line. They run over you. They love bumps. They are good under pressure. And they never come out flat. Quote
Snake Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Shouldn't they be together for more than a weekend before we start thinking of nicknames? Quote
geaux_sioux Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Shouldn't they be together for more than a weekend before we start thinking of nicknames? From what I saw last night they've earned it. They set one hell of a standard for their level of play. Quote
yzerman19 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 How about the "Tank Brigade" it is "lead" by general Pattyn after all Quote
Big A HG Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Nicknames just happen...they aren't forced. Quote
tnt Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 From what I saw last night they've earned it. They set one hell of a standard for their level of play. We've said it before that if they don't play the grinding, hard to play against game, you might as well put people in the lineup like O'Donnell, Chyzyk, and Gaarder because they have a better offensive upside. The fact that it stood out last night tells me that they haven't been as adept at fulfilling that role as they need to be on a consistent basis. Hopefully this was a precursor for things to come. geaux_sioux Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Last night looked line a turning point to me. The team was buzzing for almost the entire game. Even with finishing issues we pounded Wisconsin. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Nicknames just happen...they aren't forced. Well is just happen to think they deserve one. Quote
Siouxray Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Well is just happen to think they deserve one. mooncountry might have it right, If they keep up that kind of play. I'm with ya, man. They deserve one. Quote
Big A HG Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I'm confused, does a nickname mean they are better or something? How does one "deserve" a nickname? Quote
geaux_sioux Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 I'm confused, does a nickname mean they are better or something? How does one "deserve" a nickname? They absolutely kicked ass last night and were the reason Wisconsin lost focus on winning and started taking stupid penalties. They also cycled the puck Porter style and finished every check and then some all night. Everyone was questioning the toughness of this team and last night they played with major grit which is infectious. They could be a reason this team goes far. Quote

But why do they need/deserve a nickname? Why can't they just be themselves and kick some tail? 1 Quote
geaux_sioux Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Great, I love that. But why do they need/deserve a nickname? Why can't they just be themselves and kick some tail? Cause it's fun and something to talk about. It's not a very serious discussion. Maybe we could dub them the buzzkill line? 1 Quote
geaux_sioux Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 The wrecking crew? Blitzkrieg? Bash brothers? The juggernaut line? Muderers row? Quote
bigskyvikes Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Cause it's fun and something to talk about. It's not a very serious discussion. Maybe we could dub them the buzzkill line? Really.......can't people just have fun with it and not knock a guy trying to start a convo because the boys looked good and that line gave us all a sense of butt kickin time is starting just in time..... Old Barn Guy at Home Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Maybe with their role being to "grind," they could be called the Red Pepper Grinders?" Quote
yzerman19 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Why not the 3rd Division? yup, or the 2nd armored... Quote
Blackheart Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 How about the Punch line? Seems pretty simple with their physical play... Quote
dagies Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Great, I love that. But why do they need/deserve a nickname? Why can't they just be themselves and kick some tail? Because you can't kick tail in hockey without a nickname. GOSH! Patton led the third army Beat me to it Quote
watchmaker49 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I am with Big A on this. Nicknames for lines are quite lame. Quote
