AZSIOUX Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 UND drops another 5 spot in Fairbanks while Mac crushes a few Nanooks! What we know for sure Out Saturday: Kristo, Connor Gaarder, Stephane Pattyn, Andrew Panzarella, Parks 5-2 UND 10pm game Quote
as15 Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Here is my take for the lineup tonight: O'Donnell-Knight-Grimaldi MacMillan-Rowney-St. Clair Chyzyk-Caggiula-Rodwell Senkbeil-Sanderson Schmaltz-Forbort Mattson-MacWilliam Gleason-Simpson Gothberg Saunders I wish Saunders would get the start again, I think he is clearly our #1 right now, Its an early season, non-conference match up, I would be fairly surprised if Gothberg doesn't play tonight. butterz77 Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Mac and Mattson will start the game, but I'd see Saunders in again. He clearly has poise over Gothberg. Let karl work with Gothberg for awhile. Remember Suanders is only a junior... Quote

as15 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 i like your first line but I think St. Clair and Caggiula should switch spots with each other. That wouldn't be a bad idea, but Hakstol has mentioned it is very hard to play the off-wing and doesn't normally like to play people there, so I wanted to put everyone on their strong sides if I could. St. Clair right-handed, Caggiula is left-handed. Quote

I've heard other people say that too. Me, personally, I love playing the off-wing. Enables me to skate up the boards, cut to the middle of the slot and shoot forehand while the dman screens the goalie. Works all the time in my adult league. Quote

Yes that is an advantage, that is why some of the best goal scorers in the NHL play the off-wing, Gaborik and Ovechkin come to mind off the top of my head. It is much harder to catch passes in your own zone, so most people don't like it. Quote
bcblues Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 If we get a hot start again tonight, that would help. Some hungry skaters with something to prove can be effective, as we saw last night. Quote
