Im simply saying from a marketing standpoint UM vs OSU is bigger than UM vs UND. Locally UM vs UND would be much bigger, I fully admit that. Here it is..... Ohio St. is a bigger school with more alumni than UND. On a "national" level (all sports and university brand) Ohio State is bigger than UND and Minnesota for that matter. I believe his point was that, to hockey fans, yes UM-UND would be a much bigger and more intriguing match-up. To the casual viewer who wasn't going to watch (and probably won't regardless), seeing UM-OSU on the schedule would make them more likely to tune in because nationally, OSU is a more recognizable brand. They likely don't know that OSU hasn't been all that great at hockey lately, nor do they care, but they recognize the name. And to the point that the potential is there for OSU's attendance to grow is a very valid one. If they actually start winning some games, particularly against familar B1G opponents, people will start showing up. Everyone loves a winner, that doesn't change. In other words, you're not going to dispute the fact that OSU's home attendance versus Michigan and Michigan State was better than it was against teams like Lake State, Ferris, and Bowling Green. Unfortunately for your argument, the Ohio number is closer to 1 in 100 and most of those are Penguins fans who don't care about college hockey. You really are suffering from Delusions of Gradeur. OSU has had a hockey team for how long, never did anything, and now all of a sudden, they're going to rise from the ashes and have a huge following... History doesn't back up that statement. You’re trying to come off like you’re some kind of a genius, but no matter how you look at it 19th for a school the size of OSU is pathetic no matter how you slice it, and they're big ten school and all they can draw is 4,000, yet were told that they're a bigger deal than say a UND which averages 10,500 per game and led the NCAA in attendance last season. You brought up SCSU, who's a very small school. You’ve got nothing. You do realize SCSU has more students than UND, right? I'm not sure I would qualify UND as "a very small" school. I think it would be fair to say that Wisconsin exceeded expectations after Christmas, and Minnesota did not meet expectations after Christmas.
