sioux rube
This league is turning into a joke and it hasn't even gotten off the ground. Never liked this league in the first place and this just adds to it. I'm going to enjoy this last year of the WCHA and who knows I may not renew my season tickets for next year. I'm sure I will give it a year before I do anything drastic like that but ya never know.
Smoggy
So how many WCHA refs does he drag along with him?
Frozen4sioux
The wheels sure seem to be falling off this good idea pretty fast now...... Scary...just damn scary.
crb1
Although most people are upset with the pick I think i will reserve judgment until I see what type of system Mr. Adam plans to install and the type of refs he brings in. I don't think the NCHC would hire some one who would bring the "status quo" from the WCHA to the NCHC. Sure the NCHC is going to have growing pains but lets let it first take off and develop before we are ready to label it a failure.

Let's see how things come together before labeling this a failure. I'm sure Adam was influenced to call games how the WCHA wanted them called. We don't know for sure if he necessarily agreed with those mandates. We shall see a year from now.
70'sguy
Bring back Martenelo (sp?) from his Windsor strip club. How do you remember Medo? Are you from that era? Medo was a legend.
70'sguy
That is funny I almost posted that medo martinello (sp?) must not have been available! Didn't think anyone remembered him. I remember him big time. He was a monster in officiating circles.

You know, I'm pretty sure that whoever they brought in would be considered a failure by fans because fans always say how bad officials are. The same people who are whining about the replacement refs in the NFL, are the ones who say the regular officials suck. It's the nature of the beast. yababy8
Time for Faison to stick up for UND Yeah, no point in Firing him now. Damage already done; Name gone, league wrecked, Awesome national TV contract eliminated, Satellite TV option over! whats the point? The guy has never one time ever made a statement suggesting he was going to do something as a leader to preserve the Fighting Sioux tradition. All he has ever done is explain why it is in our best interests to surrender the good that we have had. Think about it everyone!$#! someone please tell me a time, just once. Many of us would give our left nut for this program and its tradition. Faison, 'well they were going to do this,or they said they would do that, so we had to give them the farm. EVERY TIME!@ ...I read Hak's reply to the Adams hiring as a politically intellegent statement and not so much of an expression of respect.. EVERY TIME!@ ...I read Hak's reply to the Adams hiring as a politically intellegent statement and not so much of an expression of respect.. I will repeat this one last time. Faison had nothing to do with losing the nickname. The lawsuit and the agreement with the NCAA were completed before Faison was hired. He works for the President of the University, who works for the State Board of Higher Education. Faison did what his employer wanted him to do, just like good employers are expected to do. UND would have been damaged by the NCAA sanctions. Keeping the nickname would have been poor business and a poor decision. You have an unreasonable expectation of what could have been done to deal with the NCAA. The voters of North Dakota made their decision and it was the right decision. Move on. Faison has done a great deal to help the UND Athletic Department. First and foremost is getting the majority of the teams into the Big Sky Conference. UND athletics would not have survived long term without conference affiliation for its teams. Look at the discussions about Idaho and New Mexico State. That would be UND if they didn't have a conference home for football, basketball, and the other sports. And UND hockey, the only sport that you care about, can't survive without the rest of the athletic department. The television contract is a work in process. But there is one major factor that you and others seem to recognize about the new deal. UND is actually going to get paid. UND hasn't gotten any money from this "revolutionary" TV deal with Fox College Sports. The exposure has been great, but you can't spend exposure. $200,000 per year helps pay a lot of bills. Midcontinent will continue to work on expanding their reach with the Midco Sports Net. Making any decisions or assumptions about what the deal will mean for exposure in future years is very short sighted. But the money that UND is receiving will be very useful for the athletic department. The WCHA is in the middle of great change. Losing Minnesota and Wisconsin meant that the small schools were going to be in charge of the league. That isn't good for the stronger programs like UND and Denver. UND and the other schools, with people that know a lot more about running sports programs than anyone on this board, made a decision to start a new league. The fans, again people that don't know a great deal about running sports programs or conferences, may not like the decisions that have been made. But if the league is successful, the fans will forget all about these decisions by the time the league starts playing. We get it. You don't like anything that's happening. Your whining isn't going to accomplish anything. UND is moving forward. Excitement is growing for football, basketball and other sports. The hockey team has a chance to be very successful this year. If you don't like what's happening, quit paying attention. Many of us are happy that good things are happening. This is a new era in UND sports. UND is now a full Division I school with a great deal to look forward to. You can believe that the sky is falling, many of us know that blue skies are here again.

Goon
I still think the league of DU, UND, C.C., WMU, SCSU, Miami, UMD and UNO is better than the WCHA minus UMN and UW. It will be interesting to see in the future "if" eventually Midco Sports is available on DirecTV. Apparently, Lakes Public TV that does TV for BSU is avialable in Minnesota on DirecTV.
