BigGreyAnt41
Why do I not believe that the only penalties committed late in the 3rd, or any of the overtimes, were by UND?
choyt3
Gopher PP Missed the call, switched to the men. From the looks of the second OT, penalties weren't being called. Wilbur
Just came down to depth. UND couldn't play more than six forwards and basically four defensemen. UND laid it all on the line, just came up short. That gopher team has a ton of olympians and the best goaltender in the world. No shame in going to triple OT. Wilbur
Is UND bidding on hosting future frozen fours? I don't think the NC$$ would allow that with some of the leftover hostilities in the building.
Smoggy
It is quite a disgrace on ncaa part that regional and frozen four go to same school.
NDHockey
It is quite a disgrace on ncaa part that regional and frozen four go to same school. The regional is played at the home rink of the top 4 seeds in the tournament. It's not a premeditated decision by the NCAA.

UND really played well but I think just what you said about the depth issue catching up with them is accurate. UND is the one team this year that coud hang with Minnesota and when UND started playing better defensively, especially the goaltender, they really matched up very well. If UND would have managed to pull off the upset they would have had a great shot to win the national title.

UND SID is not the main contact for women's hockey. Tweets on women's hockey are mainly going to be covered by the official UND Women's Hockey twitter account and Idalski's twitter account, along with others involved first hand with the program. You'll see others chime in, but for to the wall media coverage, you have to go to these other accounts.

One of the twins was brought down on a break, and the net dislodged on another break. What changed in the third OT? Interesting that in the second OT we were pulled down in front of their net and the announcer said "We're too deep into overtime for UND to get that call", guess things changed a little later when they got the call. siouxforce19
Interesting that in the second OT we were pulled down in front of their net and the announcer said "We're too deep into overtime for UND to get that call", guess things changed a little later when they got the call. Minnesota basically got 3 powerplays in OT alone. (one was a carryover from the ending seconds of regulation). UND had 2 the whole game, one of which was that 5 minute major. On USCHO, a Gopher fan is bitching about the officiating, and saying he doesn't want to hear any UND fans bitching about the officiating. I'm sorry, but that officiating won them the damn game. And it was clear at the game that the refs decided to decide the game. I hate that. Let the players decide it. I'm just sad for the girls that the game had to end like that. My theory on the unwritten rule about calling penalties in OT has gone out the window. And they shouldn't even have gotten that power play that scored the game-tying goal either. Terrible call. But it is what it is. Hopefully in a few years we'll turn the tables on them.

siouxforce19
is his title und sports information director for mens hockey or und sports information director?? either way pretty pathetic coverage for such a big game imo... What is he supposed to do? There was a men's game going on at the same time! In case you forgot, there was a home game last night. I don't think you realize how much he has to do for home games. He has to delegate the work. By the time overtime started at the women's game, we were an hour from puck drop at the Ralph. Your complaining to the wrong people. You want something changed? Send Jayson and email and tell him you were displeased about the media coverage. Or you could go over to USCHO and see Gopher fans raving about the media coverage of the game that we have on UNDSports.com. The weather also prevented the Herald getting to Minneapolis as well. The SID isn't the media here. Your disappointed because he didn't tweet enough about the game? Really?
82SiouxGuy
is his title und sports information director for mens hockey or und sports information director?? either way pretty pathetic coverage for such a big game imo... These are the tweets from the Women's Hockey Twitter feed, just for the overtime periods. Looks like pretty good coverage if you were following the right feed. Different people in the Athletic Department have different coverage responsibilities just like siouxforce19 said. The UND SID is responsible for the Men's Hockey team and was working at the REA. Pretty hard for him to cover a game in Minneapolis while he was in charge of supporting the media at a game in Grand Forks.
