Westside Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 SFI confirms Gray to UNI SiouxFootballInsider @SiouxFootball Former #UND commit Rashadeem Gray has signed with Northern Iowa . Quote
Hambone Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 I believe so - and it sounds like he won't. As noted above, I hope we get the two CA kids. Surprised that, per Matt, there will only be 1-2 PWOs! Missed that part. That's somewhat dissappointing, as I've been really looking forward to hearing about them. Quote

Surprised that, per Matt, there will only be 1-2 PWOs! I took that to mean they were waiting on 1-2 more scholarship NLI's to come in. Comment From MPLS Sioux Fan MPLS Sioux Fan: ] How many more recruits are we waiting on? 10:37 Matt, UNDSports.com: I believe 1-2. Quote
UND92,96 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I'm intrigued by the potential of Cox. It's always nice to have DE's with that kind of frame and height. Quote
Hambone Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 I took that to mean they were waiting on 1-2 more scholarship NLI's to come in. And Nurse mentioned that we haven't seen all of his "bumps" yet, so it could be Bell and Wharton that we should see. Sounds like they are just waiting on one more. Out of the two, hopefully Bell from my perspective if I had to pick one just based on tape. Quote
UND Fan Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I took that to mean they were waiting on 1-2 more scholarship NLI's to come in. Thanks - I did misread the question. I thought he asked how many were "walking" on rather than "waiting" on. However, it doesn't sound like there will be many.... Luke Schleusner: Yes it's definitely coming along. At the FCS level, we are limited to 95 players in Fall camp, so that means only 10 walk ons. with the number of talented PWO's we brought in last year, it means less spots this year. Quote
MoSiouxFan Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Just got another one: Hunter Wharton. Quote
jdub27 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 And Nurse mentioned that we haven't seen all of his "bumps" yet, so it could be Bell and Wharton that we should see. It is Wharton. Recruited as a LB. Quote
Westside Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 It is Wharton. Wharton's NLI just came in Quote
Hambone Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Is everybody on wiki committed already? Yep - Wiki looks up to date. Quote
jdub27 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Class looks great on paper (doesn't it always!). Hopefully we see some early results from this class. Excited for the signing day party tonight, hopefully there is a good turnout. Quote
forksandspoons Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Wharton looks extremely athletic... wish we could have picked up a CB.. Quote
jodcon Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Yep - Wiki looks up to date. That's good, nice to see some last-minute defense added to the mix. Sounds like a good recruiting year for this area, UND, NDSU, Montana, and Montana State all very happy with their commits today, of course you never know for a couple years but they look good on paper. UND92,96 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I see Ryan Stendler is now a two-star recruit on rivals. Didn't they have him as a "no-star" prospect before NIU came into the picture? It seems pretty lame to change a kid's grade this late. Quote
Hambone Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Sounds like Dexter Bell ended up signing with Navy. Quote
jodcon Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Sounds like UNI lost a couple commits, one to NDSU and one to SDSU, that has to hurt in your same conference. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Sounds like Dexter Bell ended up signing with Navy. damn it.......... he would have been a perfect LB for the Big Sky...... Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Considering last year's inability to consistently run the football and stop the run, upgrades were needed at the line of scrimmage. I'm quite pleased the coaching staff made an emphasis to address that area by bringing in plenty of quality offensive and defensive linemen. Quote

UND Fan Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Guys - I think I have Wiki up-to-date with our recruits (still wish there was more info about PWOs). I will update the "offered but signed elsewhere" section this evening. Quote

I will update the "offered but signed elsewhere" section this evening. Good idea to keep that updated, unlike other schools who remove players from the list randomly as the process goes on. An accurate list would be nice to look back on. Quote
