nodak651 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago This is the opportunity for w hockey advocates to write a letter to the Fargo paper. Their use of prong thee for title ix is a joke. They are likely going to add w wrestling if anything because its cheap despite their prong 3 title ix polling that shows literally zero interest. Equestrian and Hockey would be D1 if they were sponsoring w sports based on interest/abilities as they claim. Quote

What could go wrong? Also, I'd be curious to see the AG's opinion on how working through a mediator somehow negates having to comply with open record requests. At least claim you can't disclose ongoing contract negotiations. Not only are oil prices low but oil production is about to fall in the coming years. The whole state will then have to tighten their budgets. If NDSU thinks they are going to float their FBS dreams with private donations more power to them but good luck if that isn’t their plan. 2 Quote

Ag industry is down, oil is down, hopefully people have enough money in their bank accounts to bankroll NDSU’s move and continuous play in the FBS. news flash to all you bison fans but your school isn’t good enough to invite all your programs, ndsu is a one trick pony in a decimated league with members that don’t give off FBS vibes, good luck on this move. We will see you in a few years! 2 Quote
Siouxperman8 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago what is the estimated yearly cost increase beyond the approx $15M up front? In December Hero sports provided details on MWC spending vs. NDSU currently. Eye opening if true. Somebody's gonna have to write a big check each year. Football Expenses - MWC Average (Mean): $18,988,564 Leader: Colorado State University, $31,356,224 Lowest: University of Nevada (Reno), $13,562,661 North Dakota State: $6,527,171 1 Quote
SIOUXFAN97 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago read between the lines.....mwc says they ain't adding fcs....then ndac calls and said how much to buy in...mwc floats a number...ndac starts crunching numbers and it doesn't compute but the idea of buying the used impala is now out there and a school like sac state or ttarleton that has waaaaaay more than the ndac calls and says "we'll take the impala for 48k (ndac said we'd go to 38k).......more money for them and used the ndac like a bizzo/hooker. mwc commish be like... Not according to the polling that they have done for the sole purpose being to satisfy title ix interest/abilities requirements. Quote
SIOUXFAN97 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago if fenton is even alive the threat of expulsion from the midcon should be enough to get the ndac to shut up about fbs..... at least put the fear out the fenton if your not too busy hanging around the offices of the mvc Quote

nodakvindy Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Lots to unpack. Forum communications can't be loving this, they will lose their marquee property and valley news will be able to promote the one or two games that might make the CW. Fargodome will also see fewer dates as FBS NDSU will likely have 5 home dates a year, on occasion 6. With one of the likely still an FCS team, just on obscure one. That will also trickle down to less hotel and restaurant business. But the DeKalb corn cob trophy game with Northern Illinois and the once a generation curb stomping in the College Football playoff with make the move worthwhile. I would expect recruiting in the Midwest will be tougher when you can no longer sell winning, a shot at the natty, and games that your family can see. And no, there better not be a penny of state taxpayer funds going toward this folly. I can only hope UND leadership dont act like lemmings and overreact to this. The one real concern is stability and future of the Summit League. That is something that does need to addressed. 1 1 Quote
