Nice. Like a lesser-skilled Brett Hextall.  :) 
Good to see that he wore a letter as well for Merrimack, hopefully he can help lead some of the younger players even if he's not wearing a letter at UND.

UND first reached out in June. The entire coaching staff was on the first call. Young said it was a process to get to the finish line.

"We've been chatting about what they expect from me and what I bring to the table," Young said. "They did their homework. It's a no-brainer for me. I had a few options. I really wanted to see this through just because it's a fresh start for me away from home, where there are distractions.

"I wanted to get away from the Northeast. It's a lot easier to leave the Northeast when it's a program like North Dakota. I was just waiting for the OK, and luckily, the coaching staff didn't leave me in the dark at all. They were moving things along and ironing some things out on their end, which I totally get. I'm glad I stuck with it."

Was curious to see how the staff ironed out chasing some high end recruits while having back up plans. Seems like they were upfront with him about the process which he seemed to appreciate

I wonder if the Martone news this morning was the domino that needed to fall for them to give Young the “green light.”

Not too excited about his liking to piss off the other team's players either. Denver has had a couple of those (Caponi being the most recent) and were quite hated. If you want to piss off the other team do it by good clean hits and scoring goals.

That's the way I've always felt about it.   Beat them with hockey plays.   A lot of fans, though, like to see face washes and things like our player hooking the other guy in the balls at the faceoff circle.   That's not tough-guy hockey, IMO; it's usually just a penalty kill and a barrier to running 4 strong lines, which a lot of teams can't match.   Even those with chippahs.

There's an art to being a pest.  If he's getting a bunch of matching penalties I'm totally fine with it, however if he takes a bunch of dumb unnecessary penalties that's where it may drive us crazy.  My gut feeling is he's going to be a fan favorite. You always love them when they're on your team and hate them on the other team.

You’re right.  Unfortunately, there are few artists and many who paint by the numbers.  Let’s hope he’s Matisse.

Joey Abate from UNO might still be one of the worst the NCHC has seen. He wasn’t even good, he was just cheap and a hack.

Ya he ran cam in the 2017 frozen face off ship. Wolanin made sure to get as many shots in on Pionk before the refs pulled him off

He got a 5 minute major but no misconduct so was allowed to stay in the game.

Thanks.  Not sure why that sticks out in my mind, but I remember that I hit high C when it happened.
