  1. Frozen Four: North Dakota finally breaks through semifinals drought
  2. Cuban food is fantastic in Tampa.
  3. Yes, Franken defeated Coleman when he picked up an extra 400-500 votes after the election.
  4. I am not picturing people being brought to North Dakota against their will. But hiring a Diversity and Inclusion officer to "guide the university faculty, staff and students in ways to embrace and appreciate different cultures", sounds a whole lot like indoctrination. I haven't lived in North Dakota for over 20 years and I have seen a whole lot of different cultures, some I like and some I don't. We have enjoyed having Taiwanese exchange students in our home over the past couple of years. I enjoy going to the International Food Market and Hispanic grocery stores. There are other cultures that I don't appreciate and refuse to embrace. I want people to free to be able to discern that for themselves and not through indoctrination. Freedom!
  5. Why does it need to be more diverse? Why force diversity. If it happens, let it happen. Why does UND need an associate VP for Diversity and Inclusion. To me, the Neanderthal, that sounds like forcing issues. The world is not inclusive, nor should it be. People should be allowed to be free.
  6. UND president candidate says he would make university a top-tier institution Maybe I am a Neanderthal, but I don't understand why diversity is so important nowadays.
  7. The Alerus is in some need of some atmosphere. The REA plays Chelsea Dagger for every goal. The longer that has gone on, the more people have gotten into it. I thought football could use something along the same lines. How about... Lyrics... Any other suggestions, music or otherwise?
  8. I saw this over on the WAC board... Chicago State to end school year early to save money
  9. The Florida list.
  10. The North Dakota plates look too cartoonish. I saw a new Texas plate the other day. Flat, but a classic look.
  11. I found this on the Weber board...Good crowd for UND. It's weird to hear this much noise coming from a Big Sky road game. This will be a good test for Weber.
  12. I was there. Man that was that place packed. Chattanooga played a heck of a game and got a standing ovation upon defeating the Sioux.
  13. The outtakes from the interviews thus far.
  14. I was in GF over the holidays and saw one guy wearing an NDSU hat. I saw UND gear EVERYWHERE. I remember reading bisonville about ten years ago and they were complaining about the same thing you are complaining about. Sioux gear was everywhere. Was it true then? I don't know, but I sure didn't see much bison stuff while I was in GF.
  15. Walter Payton went #4.
  16. Looks like Mardi Gras.
  17. The whole issue boils down to not being a good steward of someone else's money. I once had s guy turn in 2 receipts for dinner for the same night. I called him on it and he said the first meal wasn't good, so he went somewhere else to eat, charging both meals to the company. Some people think nothing of it, while others are good stewards.
  18. Maybe they are changing conferences.
  19. New Orleans is MSY, named after John Moisant. He was a young aviator/barnstormer who crashed in a field outside of New Orleans. The place where he crashed became the Moisant Stock Yard (MSY) years later. Then the stockyard made way for the new airport, which they named Moisant International Airport, now named Louis Armstrong International. Thankfully they are building a new airport, as the current one is an eyesore.
  20. I would prefer that the next UND President be a guy who looks at this job as his final destination job. Not someone who looks a this job as a stepping stone or one that looks at like "well I am going to do this job for 5-6 years and retire". I want someone who will be committed to UND long term, like Tom Clifford was. This may be where someone like Ray Purpur has a leg up.
  21. I would guess this guy.
  22. Since, we have a rather large family, we don't fit well in hotel rooms. A couple of years ago we were attending a wedding in St. Paul and found it much cheaper to rent a house than stay in a hotel. We found the house on VRBO (Vacation Rentals by Owner). St. Paul had quite a few to choose from. We were going to visit Grand Forks over Christmas, so I checked to see if Grand Forks had any VRBO options. We lucked out. Grand Forks has one. It fit us perfectly and had a garage, which is great in the winter when you are driving up from Florida. If you are heading to GF and need a little room to spread out, I recommend checking this out.
  23. I was here first.
  24. Chickenhawk makes me think of an episode of Hogan's Heroes...
