  1. I have gravitated to the no nickname stance, due to the lack of a good choice as a new nickname. I understand the position of a nickname means $$$ to UND. I also think the wrong nickname would be less $$ to UND , than no nickname. Right now a bad nickname is going to anger a lot of folks, some of them being stakeholders. UND can go with no nickname and come up with a new marketable logo that will produce $$. Years from now, a new nickname may grow organically. Let's not force a bad choice, just to have a nickname.
  2. http://www.topmanagementdegrees.com/rankings/best-online-mba/North Dakota ranks #13, between James Madison and Auburn. Pretty good company.
  3. A new thread to get this out of the Where to eat in GF thread. I don't think organic is being shoved down anyone's throat. An option is being provided that wasn't there before or was very limited. As far as nutritional value is concerned, you are right. There is very little additional nutritional value with organic or non-GMO. Most people go for organic for limited pesticides and toxins. Couldn't have said it any better.
  4. Got a bit dicey as UND let them back into the game. It was tied at 70 before Hooker took charge, leading North Dakota to a 85-75 win. 4-0. Nice sweep guys.
  5. We have been trying to go more organic and looking for the non-GMO label. Just watched this last night on GMOs.
  6. This piece seems timely to this discussion.. Conference Expansion: Idaho to Wait for a Call from the MWC
  7. Just like losing can be habit forming, so can winning. Keep it going guys.
  8. Also sounds plausible, but I think Idaho's facilities are a hindrance to be in the MW. The Kibbie Dome would be by far the smallest stadium in the MW and they play basketball in there to boot.
  9. It seemed a logical conclusion.
  10. Idaho AD Rob Spear says FBS is what's best for Vandals right now So Spear wants to be in a conference with geographic integrity and not lose out on the big payouts that come with playing the FBS schools. Sounds a lot like what SiouxVolley has been talking about.
  11. We just spent the last 5 days in Rolla MO. Very nice area with plenty of springs and caverns. We went through Jonesboro AR, home of Arkansas State, which is FBS with a similar size city and school enrollment. I have not seen their attendance numbers are.
  12. August 8th per SFI. Edit: Man, I would have bet money that it said the 8th earlier. Now it reads 8/6.
  13. What was there before Sandy's?
  14. From SFI..
  15. breech brēCH/ noun 1. the part of a cannon behind the bore. 2. archaic a person's buttocks. verb archaic 1. put (a boy) into breeches after being in petticoats since birth.
  16. My take is that UND would be in breach of the Settlement/Addendum, if no nickname was chosen. But, I don't think the NCAA would do anything. Their original intent with all of this was to get rid of the hostile and abusive nicknames, mascots and imagery. With the Fighting Sioux name and logo gone, they achieved their original intent. They would look rather petty in the eyes of the media to force North Dakota have a nickname.

  18. Says the guy who went to school for this stuff.
  19. http://www.thedickinsonpress.com/sports/college/3806716-university-north-dakota-athletic-facility-officially-be-ready-use-saturday Sounds pretty confident that construction will begin soon on Phase II, if they are looking at bringing to the legislature for approval.
  20. Going back to what started this whole thing. ... http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/PressArchive/2005/Announcements/NCAA%2BExecutive%2BCommittee%2BIssues%2BGuidelines%2Bfor%2BUse%2Bof%2BNative%2BAmerican%2BMascots%2Bat%2BChampionship%2BEvents.html Their intent was to get rid of the nicknames, mascots and imagery that were deemed hostile and abusive. Settlement aside, just going with North Dakota achieves that end. Yes, that is just my opinion. Model institution, Wisconsin, has been scheduling North Dakota.
