I am not speaking for all of SS folks. Just me. I am over 50 and not threatened. Using your logic, UND should be trying to get more white students, since North Dakota is over 87% white, while UND is only at about 78% white. Why not just let students choose the schools they want to attend without additional programs and money? Whatever happened to going to school to get an education without indoctrination?

Saw this piece today about Cal Poly. Why and when did colleges get so wacky? Can a public university really legally do this? It sounds like discrimination to me. California university works to reduce number of white people on campus

Try out the VRBOs in Grand Forks. We have stayed at a couple of them and they have worked out great for my family. Especially since we cannot all fit in on one hotel room.

We went to the Trump event, as well. My brother works for the RNC, so we were able to get VIP passes and didn't have to stand in line and were quite close to the stage. I sent you a PM with contact information, if you are ever over in this neck of the woods.

I am a contractor. Live in Pensacola, but do a lot of work at Eglin. I was there last week. I assumed that since you moved from Grand Forks, that you liked worked on a military base, either Eglin or Hurlburt.

I was thinking FCS, at least as the next step. There is quite the hole in the FCS map that UWF (Pensacola) would fill. http://www.championshipsubdivision.com/fcs-team-map/ Pensacola is only about 3 hours east of Hammond LA (SELU). The downtown stadium is just temporary, until the on campus stadium is built. I have not really been following sports much lately, so I had to go looking for what was going on with the on campus facilities. Right now they have a field with no stadium... Artists rendering of new stadium.

Dragging a thread out of the depths. UWF started football last year and currently play in the minor league baseball field downtown on the waterfront of Pensacola Bay. This is about 10 miles from campus. Evidently this has not stopped the Argos from success. In only their second year of football they are going to the D2 national championship game. FCS on the horizon? They will definitely need to upgrade their facilities for such a move.

I was reading a piece on The Verge about laptops versus note taking and a Youtube video near the bottom of the page with someone in a space suit with a UND logo on it caught my eye.

My kids all bought t-shirts. Some said Fighting Hawks and some just said North Dakota. They were sad to see Fighting Sioux gone, but we have moved on.

If you have enough people that you would need two hotel rooms, this works better for us. The deposit gets reimbursed, so the only thing you are looking at is the standard rate plus tax and the cleaning fee.

Since the first VRBO that we went to was booked for our recent visit to GF, we stayed at a new one in the Aspen Lofts. Great place and has an amenities building. We were so busy that we didn't get to take advantage of that part, but the unit was great. If you are going to stay in GF for a few nights, I recommend this place. https://www.vrbo.com/999868

Since I have not lived in Grand Forks for about 25 years, I had to pull up Google Maps/Street to get an idea of where all of this was. i don't know the names of all these little pocket parks, but I now know where Arbor Park is. If Google Street is any indication on the popularity of the park, I would say it is dead. There is no one in it. Granted I don't know what time the picture was taken, but the coffee shop at the corner seemed to have some business and the park next to the coffee shop (where Benners, the greatest hobby shop in history used to be) had people sitting in it. So we are talking about a downtown park that, from the sounds of it, is under utilized, being turned into a mixed use development project; while there is acres of park by the river two blocks away. I think most cities would love to have something similar to the Greenway. Pocket parks are nice, but you need development, as well.
