  1. I pinged him this morning that there was some activity on this thread, some of which was thread drift. He was already on it. Thanks.
  2. I am probably telling you things you already know. Men's BB finished fifth last year with the youngest team in the Big Sky and lost in the semis in the conference tournament. That is not last or next to last. They competed well. The football team was screwed by the committee, as I am sure you are well aware, as they should have been in the playoffs. With a new coach and new philosophy, football has a bright future. Not the dim picture painted by BisonDan, saying all UND sports were at the bottom of the Big Sky. And since you asked....Definition - in a good or satisfactory way: "the whole team played well"
  3. Admittedly, UND places badly in the non-revenue sports, but does well in M/W BB, VB and Football, You can check that out for yourself.... http://bigskyconf.com/index.aspx Even saying that, T&F is improving every year. The new indoor facility will only help with that.
  4. Yes, this makes perfect sense. The school with the largest athletic budget, largest enrollment and best overall facilities will be the one left behind. Riiiight.
  5. Important Conversation For UND Athletics In The Big Sky
  6. Which sports are required by the Big Sky? Never mind, found it. M/W Tennis is required.
  7. Big Sky sports where UND finished last or next to last.. Soccer, M/W Tennis and Softball. Big Sky sports where UND is competitive.. Football, M/W Basketball and Volleyball. Sports where UND has not been competitive, but improving and will improve due to the HPC, M/W Track and Field. Where UND does the worst is in the non-revenue sports. Go Sioux!!
  8. Hey, I took ice skating for an HPER. I had John Marks as my instructor. We had a ball.
  9. Thanks to all!! I texted him a link to this thread. The Greenway is a great idea.
  10. 40ish. He is not a drinker.
  11. My neighbor was sent to GF to train for UAVs. He is looking for things to do while he is there. I told him that, unfortunately, most of the "things to do" revolve around the University, which will be idle for a few months I already told him to see the Ralph, along with a some restaurants that I used to frequent 20+ years ago. He is an avid golfer, so he has been hitting the area courses, weather permitting. Any ideas?
  12. Found a link to the missing statistics...http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/t/tayloma01.html There is a nice link to show all of the NHL Sioux alums
  13. From the other thread.. Mark Taylor

  15. Comparing UND athletic spending to competing schools Interesting piece on schools and $$ spent on women's sports. Among the six schools in this study, UND is the biggest spender on female athletic scholarships at $2,156,606. None of the five other schools spend more than $2,000,000 on female scholarship
  16. I can't see UWF ever getting hockey. They will have their inaugural season of football this year, which will be played downtown at Blue Wahoo stadium until they get their football stadium built on campus. Football is king in the south. The UWF faculty that I know are not too pleased that the outgoing president pushed football through.
  17. Mickey Volcan did the one year stint the same year that Kevin Maxwell did. I remember a game where Volcan was on the blue line and a Gopher player tried to enter the zone with the puck. Volcan flattened him. The crowd went nuts.
  18. IceFlyers win the Championship with 0.2 seconds left in regulation. Gotta love the no holding call on the Peoria defensemen in front of the net. Peoria didn't seem too happy with the refs after the game....
  19. http://www.undsports.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?id=5357099&db_oem_id=13500 Nice compilation of UND athletics, with the national championship game at the end.
  20. Watching the goal from the Championship game again, for the eleventy hundredth time. The time at each of the goals in the third period ends in "9", 18:39, 16:19 and 9:19. Number 9 coming up next year in Chicago.
  21. LETTERS: Don't let budget cuts hurt diversity at UND The diversity crap is the first stuff I would cut. "Whole person"? It just keeps getting worse.
  22. MIKE JACOBS: Revamp the university system, not just UND Once upon a time there was UND-Williston, UND-Bismarck and UND-Lake Region. Get rid of the duplication and perhaps consolidate some of the administrative responsibilities. Put Williston, Bismarck, Lake Region and Mayville under the UND umbrella and put Valley City, Dickinson, Bottineau and Wahpeton under NDSU. Leave Minot on its own.
