  1. For the record, I didn't "make" you take a challenge. I challenged you to not mention or reference NDSU for a week, but you weren't up to the challenge. Fine. Move on.
  2. I visit the college sports forum on this site, but haven't really gotten to the politics forum. http://csnbbs.com/forum-540.html I used to be more of a political nut, watching all of the political theater. I don't seem to have the time any or the interest anymore. I used to love watching the Sunday morning shows, but it got to be where the guests had their "talking points" and would segue each question to their talking points, whether relevant or not. The hosts let them get away with it and lost me as a viewer.
  3. You sound like one of my children.
  4. C'mon, you can't take a week off from your NDSU measuring stick? Yes, NDSU will be brought up on this board occasionally, but daily?? Even the two posts of mine that you referenced are over a week old.
  5. I don't think you know how a challenge works.
  6. I challenge you to go one whole week without mentioning or referencing NDSU.

  8. How about when just using "North Dakota", which likely would have won the vote, was pulled not once, but twice. That was someone's agenda. I still have heartburn that my suggestion, Arrows, was dumped because it was considered "Native American Imagery". Never mind that arrows date back thousands of years and over multiple continents and cultures.
  9. You are correct. I thought that was the case, but wasn't sure, so I didn't include that bit of information.
  10. Bell commits to University of North Dakota
  11. When I was playing HS football we would have our pre-game meals at Ponderosa. It was owned by the father of a classmate. Back at that time, late '70's it was pretty well run and popular. I believe the father retired in the "90's and he passed away in 2004. I'm not sure if he passed along the business to his son or not, but the son (my classmate), passed away in 2007, which seems to coincide with when it closed.
  12. The new dorm would be a non-issue during "normal" times, but these are not normal times. The whole state is being asked to cut budgets. I understand that the funding would come crom a different bag of money, but the optics in this are bad coming the day after the FU prez claims he needs new buildings because his current ones are falling down. It is almost as if he is tone deaf to reality. As said previously, if you have a fire hazard, install fire sprinkler systems. UND has been installing them over the past few years in residence halls.
  13. I liked the old downtown location. Unfortunately, there is a parking deck there now.
  14. NDSU's chemistry building aging so poorly, crews may let it burn if it catches fire Instead of tearing it down, why not install fire sprinkler systems in the building (says the fire sprinkler contractor)? It sure would be a whole lot cheaper than ripping it down and having to build a new building.
  15. I pinged him this morning that there was some activity on this thread, some of which was thread drift. He was already on it. Thanks.
  16. I am probably telling you things you already know. Men's BB finished fifth last year with the youngest team in the Big Sky and lost in the semis in the conference tournament. That is not last or next to last. They competed well. The football team was screwed by the committee, as I am sure you are well aware, as they should have been in the playoffs. With a new coach and new philosophy, football has a bright future. Not the dim picture painted by BisonDan, saying all UND sports were at the bottom of the Big Sky. And since you asked....Definition - in a good or satisfactory way: "the whole team played well"
  17. Admittedly, UND places badly in the non-revenue sports, but does well in M/W BB, VB and Football, You can check that out for yourself.... http://bigskyconf.com/index.aspx Even saying that, T&F is improving every year. The new indoor facility will only help with that.
  18. Yes, this makes perfect sense. The school with the largest athletic budget, largest enrollment and best overall facilities will be the one left behind. Riiiight.
  19. Important Conversation For UND Athletics In The Big Sky
  20. Which sports are required by the Big Sky? Never mind, found it. M/W Tennis is required.
  21. Big Sky sports where UND finished last or next to last.. Soccer, M/W Tennis and Softball. Big Sky sports where UND is competitive.. Football, M/W Basketball and Volleyball. Sports where UND has not been competitive, but improving and will improve due to the HPC, M/W Track and Field. Where UND does the worst is in the non-revenue sports. Go Sioux!!
  22. Hey, I took ice skating for an HPER. I had John Marks as my instructor. We had a ball.
  23. Thanks to all!! I texted him a link to this thread. The Greenway is a great idea.
  24. 40ish. He is not a drinker.
  25. My neighbor was sent to GF to train for UAVs. He is looking for things to do while he is there. I told him that, unfortunately, most of the "things to do" revolve around the University, which will be idle for a few months I already told him to see the Ralph, along with a some restaurants that I used to frequent 20+ years ago. He is an avid golfer, so he has been hitting the area courses, weather permitting. Any ideas?
